Having played Death Knight as a first ever build, using Krieg Set, I find it great. It’s not really the set that is lacking, per say, it’s not having more different and viable options. If you don’t get Krieg Set, what do you go for, that is as efficient? You pretty much have to either give in to the specific archetype it revolves around or you completely deviate from it. Maybe a new, Aether-focused, farmable set, is the safest approach.
This is not about Krieg set. It is about pets not having a Farmable set or Aether pet options and me wondering if Krieg having pet stats would fix both with just one change.

My bad then. But I still keep my point. More diversity and more viability, more fun.
