I really like this skill and I want to try it now…
What is the best combination of classes?
Focusing on Vitality, piercing, bleeding? a little of everything?
Do I need many defensive devotions or does it have a good life sustain with lifesteal ?

You can also turn the cold build into chaos with a Blood Orb. Although why you would sacrifice Speaker for the Dead is a good question.
That Chaos/Vitality Caster you speak of was my first PB build. It’s also pretty awesome and it got majorly buffed in the Valbury patch

There is no PB Trickster build viable ? Playing with Devouring Swarm seems good, and Mogdrogen Pact seems a good idea for survivability and some extra energy regen.
Plus, Skull of Gul’Amash looks like a pretty solid item for this.
Any suggestion ?
Modrogens Pact is inadequate to sustain this build, you really need arcanist for the - energy cost (not to mention the cast speed and all the other things).

Yeah sure, but that was not really my question here, does someone have a good trickster build based on PB and Devouring Swarm ?
JoVs build with shaman instead of occultist would work just fine and probably perform very similarly. I reckon it would be tankier due to the big health pool, but less damage due to loss of flat damage and OA despite a bigger debuff for vitality resist
The flat damage isn’t really all that much (you only get 30% of it at 26/16)
OA is easily made up through gear and devotions.
The better -RR and much higher crit damage will help make up for the lost of flat damage and %damage you get from Occultist. Tho I definitely would recommend using a dagger over the pistol so you don’t convert 15% of the physical damage to Lightning via Stormcallers Pact.
There aren’t any good Legendary Vitality daggers tho so you will need to farm a good Bonespike. Demonic or Eldritch for prefix and one of these suffixes: of Blight, of Annihilation, of the Owl. of Fury or of Celerity. Or use 1 of the Chaos Legendary Daggers that give bonuses to % Vitality damage.

Trickster Pb Build (without stuff points)
It’s vitality dmg oriented with a bit of bleeding dmg. I never played with Blade Trap, but it seems to be a very good skill with Devouring Blade for the extra ADctH effect.
Primal bond for extra tankyness. Rest of the Nightblade tree and Devotions remain the same as JoV’s build.
It doesn’t affect bosses though, otherwise it seems nice
