What is the best DW build in the game?

I’m particularly partial to my warborn blademaster, who is probably overtuned in the direction of defense, but makes up for my piloting skills by being able to eat two meteors in a row. You could probably make him even nastier by doing the same thing with a witchblade instead.

I followed it (almost) to the letter and I must be blind or something (sorry to waste your time if that’s the case…) but why do I have 3 extra devotion points (put them in Ultos chaos res node and two nodes of Jackal) and 130 OA less?

The combination of Pierce, DW, and Blademaster is a guaranteed popular concept in any game. It’s like the archetypal Assassin package. Pierce SS is dead now so Belgo is the next thing you want on an Assassin. Even if it sucks it will still be popular (member 1.0.0.9? and the DA meta? Fluff’s Belgo was still really popular even when it was shit). Before Paladin was even revealed, Blademaster is your “I WANT THAT FROM JUST THE NAME” Class. I bet if Witch Hunter had a different name that sounds better to casual players (something like Assassin maybe. I’m bad at names) it would also be really popular.

I partially agree with this. The reasons for the popularity of Belgo are rooted in popular culture. No one’s immune to its influence. Hell, if there were dual lightsabers in GD I wouldn’t even look at the stats. The same thing with people still busting their asses to make AAR work - they want that magic laser and that’s that.

However, technically Belgo is one of the best sets in GD. What else can compete in DW division?

Nothing. But current belgo power is a result of the community begging for buffs (won’t be surprised if AAR turns out the same next patch/FG). Belgo was still one of the most popular builds. Not complaining tho. Belgo and cadence are the only ways you can currently utilize pierce viably.
