What other kinds of crops would you like to see?

Since this is not my own idea I won’t put this into the feedback forum but it can be moved if deemed so by the moderators.

What other kinds of crops would you think would be interesting to have in the game and why?

I personally would love to see things like cotton for an additional clothing type. Then there are spices like cinnamon or peppers as luxury items and yes, I know cinnamon is a tree so perhaps put the with the arborist as an upgrade maybe. Different kinds of herbs perhaps?

Let’s see some ideas!

des vignes pour du vin ,tournesol ou olivier pour de l’huile

rubber tree’s maybe, depends on how high the tiers the devs want to go

Different types of Squash, Cucumbers. Also wine was a huge thing in or around the time of this game?? so grapes to make wine for consumption and trade! OH! they need plum trees yes.

More varieties of vegetables – beets, squash, corn, etc. That would give us more to rotate through and help control diseases by having more time between plantings of particular veggies.

Potatoes, sweet potatoes, parsnips – more root vegetables. Same as above – more time between planting particular crops; reduce frequency of disease.

This ties in, to me, to another topic in which someone suggested four rotations instead of three. The poster suggested this would also help reduce the frequency of disease. I like the idea.

Spices would be nice, and would probably sell well at the Trading Post. I think we should be able to grow herbs in our fields rather than having the forager collect them.

some of those wouldn’t be available, when did they start growing Corn? Not in the medieval time period.

Nah, people started farming corn around 9000 BC

Hemp & Wine

So this is not say Europe it’s some fantasy time on the Americas where corn came from? wasn’t it like the 1490’s? I thought Christopher Columbus brought corn back to Europe!

Well, it’s a fantasy world so any crops might be available. That’s up to Crate to decide which ones they may or may not add to the game.

First domesticated in Mexico by indigenous peoples in 9000 BC. Had spread to many other civilizations by 1500 BC. It’s really not out of the realm of consideration for this game no matter how you look at it.

Yup, and the history of agriculture is so long they practically have any option of plant, just not modern farming methods.

to go with new crops … why do we have ox pulling wagons but it takes 4 years for farmers to get a field ready? They should use the damn ox and get it done in one! lol
