I have an arcanist which is pure class so far, getting to the point where I really need a second class. So far I am mostly chaos and fire damage, in Albrecht’s Aether Ray. I have some points in both arcanist shields, but have built basically pure damage so far. Currently lv40 with 50 points in arcanist mastery
The obvious choice is occultist for more chaos damage, but I what I understand from reading here is that you need to be super tanky for the 2nd and 3rd runs through. So I’m not sure if more damage is ideal in the long run. I already do pretty stupid damage, and am squish. I have put about 1/2 of my stat points in physique, but that’s only enough to wear armor and not get me one shot if I mess up
So the other choice might be soldier and just get some of the tanky passives. However I haven’t seen a ray build with soldier online so I dunno if that doesn’t work at all later for some reason.
Or maybe I could go shaman, which is also a bit tanky and get healing totems.
Any suggestions?? Ideally I would like to stick with the aether ray, since it’s fun
