What mistakes should be avoided? Any tips for beginners?
If you wanna build a hybrid pet / player damage build, it will not work. I mean you will literally have a half baked pet guy and have half player damage. Unless you are using “player-scaled immune pets” like blade spirit, wind devils etc. But those pets, without very heavy item support, wont deal that much damage anyway.
Either go full pets, or full player bonuses. That would be my advice.
Play in a fun way. Make mistakes. Become better.
Hybrid Pet builds are viable. They aren’t strong enough to accomplish every single end game activity, so they aren’t recommended for people who want to do everything. But most of them are perfectly capable of doing SR 65 without any issues and they are all capable of beating Lokarr and all Skeleton Key dungeons. It really depends on player personal preference. I already posted three different Hybrid builds because they are just super fun for me.
To the OP, are you asking about mixing damage types, maybe? If that’s the case then you should look out for conversion of damage types and balance the amount of RR between your damage types, accordingly. It’s hard to find a proper equilibrium so people usually choose to focus on a single damage type. It makes itemization a lot easier, but it is possible to play with two different types of damage.
This. For me personally the first character is always the most fun because it’s when i’m discovering everything about the game. And i think that’s best accomplished if you go in blind.
Sometimes i wish i could forget everything about this game and thus be able to replay it through the eyes of a new player.
My advice is go for only a single damage type at first. Hybrids between more than one type, especially types that aren’t found together on a lot of items are simply less effective.
