I’m building my demolitionist and mainly focus on grenado. I read somewhere else that BCC is better caused you can focus on spirit rather than waste points on cunning for grenado. What bothers me is that in grimcalc a maxed BCC only deal like 70 damage when a same lvl grenado can go 1k. It seems the only good thing about BCC is the debuff but its damage is just unbelievable low. I must missed something in this one.
Also how’s canister bomb compare to grenado? Is it a waste of points to max both?
BWC is also an absolutely amazing proc machine and you can get the flat damage stacking so that 70 damage very easily reaches 2000+ (on the lower side) per tic you also got to realise grimcalc can’t take spirit or +fire/elemental multipliers into account.
Cannister bomb is only ever really used for the stunning, but it does deal massive damage I like to compare it to an instant version of Devastion.
I’ve personally never been able to use Grenado properly, while it does deal high damage monsters dodge it too easily unless your face tanking them, at least that’s what I’ve found.
No they aren’t the values are the base damage before any multipliers from spirit or gear.
Even at level 3 (lowest level can get BWC) you already have roughly 30-40% more damage from spirit which the tool tip accounts for.
BWC is good at alot of things. It is a great debuff especially when taking the transmuter. It also can be used as your main damage source with or without the transmuter. And as others mentioned it is very good at proccing devotion and gear procs.
It is IMO 100 times better then Grenado https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKmqLNdwrn0 (BWC as Main Damage) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGVjSmG892k (BWC as Debuff)
I personally think BWC is the best skill in the Demo mastery at the moment. The damage value of BWC is based per second and doesn’t take into account the resist reduction that it applies. The last patch didn’t quite change much. Resist reduction is still the way to go in terms of clear speed.
Like having +2000% fire damage? I’ll try that later. Reset skill points is cheap anyway.
About grenado, I never have problem use it when kiting. Basically you through it at enemy’s face when it charges at you and it’s hard to miss. The aoe radius is a bit low though.
No you only really need 800%+ when I say it adds up 2000+ damage is because of all the procs it can set off plus it stack when you throw it in the same spot
Say it does 200fire damage per tic because of damage multipliers throw 8 at the same spot each one will deal 200fire damage per tic equally 1600 damage per tick add devotion like fissure and that damage will be tripled or quadrupled then add in procs from gear and damage will go even higher
I have an absolutley amazing BWC-Pyromancer build. The tooltip dps is rather low (something around 8k) but it clears faster than e.g. my 50k tooltip Warder and feels just as save, thanks to all the debuffs and CC skills in Demo + Blastshield and Possession.
The basic idea of the build is to use blood orb of chthon (converting all fire into chaos), scale pure chaos, stack massive amounts of chaosres reduction (agonizing flames, hellfire mine, eldritch fire), stack a few high dmg proccs on items, get some solid OA and go for the Dieing God devotion. For anything that survives a few BWC ticks with all the proccs (i have a firewave on my gloves, a massive chaos/vit hit on a ring and two little doombolts on two green gearpieces) - so for anything that survives that, there’s doombolt to finish it off.
It’s fun as hell and really strong. Highly recommended :).
I have a similar experience with my pyromancer. Between all the debuffs and procs firing off I’m probably hitting 150k dps., and the best part is the build is really safe. I’ve completed all the content except for the edge of reality boss (e.g. Mad Queen, Sentinel, all nemesis), but that’s only because my resists are pretty terrible – something I can usually get away with under normal circumstances.
Eh, one of these days I’ll get around to posting the build for others to enjoy.
On a side note, BWC is amazing for getting aggro in mutliplayer.
Using it on my tanky commando and it seems to work better than any skills supposed to ‘generate additional threat’.
