Actually this game has a very good and enthusiastic community and this can be seen by browsing the forums and reading.
The problem for me is I can’t find this community where it matters… i.e. inside multiplayer lobbies! At least 60% of the multiplayer lobbies are private (locked) and, as for the ones that are public, they have their own set of issues. I will very frequently encounter folks who do not speak my language (English/French/…) or are genuinely disinterested by the game or are childishly salty. There’s also a significant lack of players which makes it hopeless to open trading games. Most people won’t bother with trading anyway, they can just create the item for themselves with cheats.
I admit I have met some very fun people to play with but for some reason after playing once together we never get around to playing together again… Sometimes this is due to timezone differences, other times I am not sure why.
I also don’t know how to solve this issue. What I can say is: I can’t keep playing this game alone nor can I play with people who cannot communicate with me or who quit after the first 20 minutes out of disinterest.
Yeah I think I know what you mean about low multiplayer population.
I mostly play multiplayer crucible and struggle to find games sometimes.
One thing I found helps if you are playing crucible is to set the filters to hide full and locked party’s but allow games in progress which you cant join but you can wait till they have finished their round then join them.
But in saying that I tend to still run into the same people so I guess you just gotta take what you can when the community is so small. You wont always get the game you want like if I start a game on my 85 the chances are I will get lower ranks joining and we may not get to 150, or you may not always get games or people to join your games in higher difficulties.
Also try hosting and see if anyone will join your game (keeping in mind you may not always get who you want but you gotta take what you can) I would recommend not restricting the lvl limits unless you really need to if you want people to join.
I think the community is actually really good and helpful in this game, I have only had 1 bad group.
TLDR: Yeah the community is pretty small but really good so just take what you can in multiplayer and make the most of it. PS pls fix all the multiplayer crashes
Just make sure you are reporting them. If you aren’t able to get the crash reporter you need to be filing bug reports here in the appropriate forum section. Be as descriptive as possible. It’s very hard for them to solve these unless they can replicate it on their own computers or figure out the cause from players reports. The more information they get the better.
It’s a small team so don’t think they are just ignoring it because that is not the case. They provide fixes as they are able to (determine the source of the issue).
yeah I have put in a bug report on the bug forum with info (no reply yet). also sending crash reports when I can but cant always because sometimes have to restart my comp to clear the black screen, still probably putting in about 5 a night though and getting about 10-15 crashes a night in multiplayer
