What's the logic behind Oleron's proc binding?

So, i’m confused. I can’t figure out the pattern behind it. And it seems completely arbitrary.

aaaBlindFury
You can bound Wind Devils and Vendigo totems, yet you can’t bound storm ones.

aaablindfury2
For some reason, the last inqs’ WPS also cannot be bound. As well as TSS.

aaablindfury3
Both thermite mines and mortar traps are player-scaled pets, yet the lattest cannot be bound.

Moreover, from all seals skills, only Seal of Blight’s and Void’s ones can be bound.

If there’s logic, can somebody please clarify it to players?
And if there’s no logic at all, can something be done about this?

For comparison, here’s blades of wrath:

The only pattern i’ve found remotely working is it can be bound to an attack (from player or a pet) that is considered “melee”. Although ranged WPS shatter this theory.

In my experience, the proc itself is finally worth it after all the buffs but due to binding issue the amount of platforms that can afford it is very limited. Basically you must have either Vire’s Might to proc it or Ravenous Earh to successfully proc Assassin’s Mark and have your AA free to bind to Blind Fury.

Honestly, with how limited physical builds are with procers, especially the “main” physical mastery, Soldier, i’d like for Blind Fury to be shifted to chance when hit.

looking through grimtools with show all pet attribute and skill turned on, it shows that storm totem and mortar trap have no basic attack, the basic attack they have are the skill they cast, while wendigo totem, thermite mines, and wind devil have attack attribute, although it only have “meter target area”. Those totem and mortar are same with Inqui rune but about the wps I dont know.

that’s sounds reasonable, thank you a lot!

Bull Rush, Maul and Oleron’s Rage will have less restrictive options in v1.1.8.0.

In regards to what you’re seeing, the templates for Bursting Round and Chilling Rounds simply overlap with those of most other WPS skills, and so they showed up as they were not explicitly blacklisted (although they should have been with the current melee-centric list).

That’s great.
and thanks for the explanation.

Can we move on of them to “when hit”, please?

Could we also look into some other proc-skills?
For example Word of Pain, in my experience,… it can proc close to nothing (where the very similar CoF can).

That would be fascinating since they are the same skill template and Word of Pain isn’t blacklisted anywhere.

I didn’t know Blind Fury was called Oleron’s Rage now. :scorv:

On a serious note, yes, make Blind Fury less restrictive when it comes to binding options.

Or just make it on hit.

Why only one?

I hope everyone here understand why this is a bad idea?

I don’t.

Physical builds have too many devotions on attack and not enough things to proc them with. If half of them were on hit they would be used more.

Youre lying, i can feel it . hmhm You dirty Scale abuser. peka

Litteraly 2 devotions - assasin mark and Arzakaa. The rest of so-called phyz devotion don’t deal dmg, so one one pick them ever.

You can’t use everything at the same time anyway. Bull Rush is a very good proc while leveling, problem about it’s end game usage is it’s blue, if it were yellow and purple surely a lot of builders can squish it on their devotion scheme and bind it to something like movement skills/runes.

However every veteran player is aware that Maul is not enough to be used, most important problem is that it requires 6 points and gives only 1 purple and 1 blue affinity. It’s proccing is irrelevant here since even if devs make it to bind on every skill in the game, still no one will use it. It should give more affinity points.

Though I cannot see any restrictions on GrimTools for WoP, I surely encountered some exceptions (CoF is blacklistet for Living Shadow on GT though).

Scales are not primarily physical damage devotion. I am talking about Bear, Bull, Falcon, Assassin’s Blade, Azraaka, Ulzaad and Oleron.

I never said that I want to. Have you ever seen these used anywhere - Bear, Bull? Falcon maybe on bleed builds.

Yeah, right, you forgot about Vire and falcon. So much ppl go for on-attack phyz devotions while building phyz builds. Oh whait, nou, no one pick them, everyone convert scale/fiend/bat/empyryon. Cause converted dmg ignore armor.

Sure no one takes Assassin’s Blade, Azraaka or Ulzaad. Vire and Empyrion are the only ones that is on hit. Scales also but are not primarily a physical devo.
