Awesome! TSS is finally getting some love! Like someone else mentioned earlier, it will be nice if a frost nova or electrical aftershock erupts after the shards land.
TSS itself does decent damage but it’s kinda wonky and doesn’t feel satisfying to use.
I’m not arguing that the skills probably need some kind of buff (especially PRM), but I think if you’re using only Fabius as your bench mark then there is some flaw in your reasoning… Have you tried to kill valdaran? (moose definitely would be harder due to his cold resists). I would assume, your TSS build will do much better vs Valdaran then the builds that can take Fabius in 9, 15, 20 or 30s… I have a sorcerer, but use neither TSS or PRM…but also leave Fabius alone as he is much harder for me to kill in general, but Moose and valdaran are much easier. The “general” conscious I’ve seen is that melee classes fair better vs Fabius but poor vs Moose/Valdaran, but casters do well vs Moose/Valdaran and poor vs Fabius. So too me, using Fabius as a benchmark for a casters skill seems a little off base… I like that fact that not all classes are created equal vs all targets… Just my opinion…
I know Fab is the easiest to find so if farming he’s a good target, although with the change to his loot table I’m not sure that is the most efficient farming route anymore…
AAR could use some buffing too…toooooo much energy cost for a single target channeling skill…
I get your point but no challenge from Valdaran , even though he has higher cold resistance . If you have full 80 cold resistance or higher, and if you are a distance-ranged attack type. He literally means nothing.
If you ever wanted my video and gave it some thought, you will realize my TSS is lightening-oriented totally unlike majority of TSS builds . Plus I have a bunch of skills that are there for resistance reduction.
The thing is among all the nemesis Fabius is the most challenging for the caster type of BD. Because casters are weak, lack of armor and absorption, low on DA, most are even short of health regen. Close-up , shadow-attack, high damage-dealt and bleeding DOT from Fabius definitely make him the most threatening and on top of the killer list.
If any caster can manage to stand against Fabius still without running for life and wrap up a battle in timely matter. This BD is final. No other ordinary heros, bosses, or nemisis can easily shake that.
maybe the new Mad Queen is new challenge, but I think Fabius is still harder to deal with since he has more health, higher rate of dodging, and death-tasting swirling blades.
Edit 1: almost every caster BD of mine have the following feature. 5000-6000 blood, 1500DA, 900 AR, Yet each one of them is capable of battling with Fabius like a commando…
yes and no. my purpose of sharing my TSS video is to have a say in this. so I don’t get responses from the crowd to tell me to play with TSS first. At least it could tell people I do have some serious understanding of this skill.
The video just proved me being right when I say TSS requires the caster to stand extremely close to Fabius so to get some qualified hits. Isn’t that annoying and truly disturbing for a fragile caster to do that? and how does that make TSS? " right? Wait, what? Seriously?"
Fabius is a very mobile enemy, that’s his thing. TSS is not really designed for dealing with a single fast enemy (unless do like you said). That’s not a really an issue with TSS. That’s a limitation on the play style you’re using, if you don’t like it change your tactics for that fight.
I don’t quite agree. no matter what’s that specifically designed for, all the nemesis are the final tests to certain BD and skills. But be a reminder if you invest 16+12+12 points to a skill which to say is a medium skill, it would be an design issue rather than a tactical decision if you can barely make a hit, not even to bring up this is a skill with cooldown. Everytime it fails to hit or to deal an efficient damage, huge waste of time!
I don’t think people are getting the underlying message here. ABCBbq didn’t make a tank, he made a glass cannon. That decision was to compromise survivability in the pursuit of damage capability. The results did not follow his expectations.
That is a bit of a problem. When the least tankiest mastery has challenges keeping up with damage with a 40 point skill, maybe its worth investigating. To make matters worse, the skill mechanics make it harder to consistently deliver output. To some degree that can be entertaining, but only if the risks and rewards are balanced, which they dont seem to be.
Is it possible to address ABCs situation with gear or devotions or do we need to look at alternative skill builds to achieve the goals?
for you and for whomever that might be following this post, if TSS is only designed with a purpose of crowd control and damage, so to say not as a main damage skill, then why creating the Trozan’s Ascension set?
i’ve tried SO hard to figure out PRM, but it just doesn’t work, and the extra missiles nearly always miss. since each burst only fires one volley of missiles they should be homing missiles that seek enemies.
:) no one, but again, this moment is inevitable, to face against one badass single monster like Fabius.
time is no test to the excitement of game, but is test to efficiency to your BD.
while survivability determines how much fun you could enjoy your bd.
resistance reduction should not be any issue.
because it’s compensated by devotion system. XX reduced resistance from manticore
and also compensated by augments %chance of xx% reduced resistance from augment of BL.
and multiple -xx% reduced xx resistance from various items.
Yeah, i had not watched your video, but i have now. I think the fact that you were able to pretty much facetank fab with a sorcerer is quite the accomplishment in itself. Well done, especially using TSS as your damage source consisting the how it falls. I personally haven’t used it much besides for some CC from frozen core when i got some gear with plus to frozen core…
But again I’m not arguing the fact it needs some kind of buff, but the manor in which you present your reasoning. You do show for a fact that you need to facetank fab in order for you to take him out in a reasonable time with TSS. I’m not disagreeing that is what has to be done based on the machinics of the skill. My issue is that you’re inisisting a skill needs to be fixed because, although you can handle every other mob in the game fine (actually have you tested your build vs sentinel? He’s fast, i would assume be an issue too), you need to face tank fab to kill him with TSS build.
The fact you think the skill needs to kill fab fast to make the build work is your opion. My opinion is that not every skill should kill every mob fast.
Again, especially based on the point investment and the machinism of the skill causing many of the shards to do zero damage as they will miss the target, I do agree there should be some buff to put it more on par with some other skills. Right now its main use, at least the only thing I’ve ever use it for, is CC.
Even with every available source of resist reduction except Necrosis. ( Augment from BL, Band of Eternal Haunt, Tome of Names, Elemental Storm from Rhowans Crown). It isn’t enough. I struggle clearing content that my other non-cold based casters have 0 problems with.
well, I would argue that if your build chooses to not have a strong single target skill, then that is on your build rather than a reason to make one of the CC skills you have to also double as that
Wih your logic I can pick any skill and say ‘it does not do X, that should be added’ as Doom Bolt has a very small AoE, and no life leech, unlike some other skills, should these be added ?
Not saying that making it less hit or miss would be a bad thing, just like TSS will get a buff, just that the argument that a skill needs a fix because it is not very good at killing single targets is flawed
