Hello all,
I am currently playing (well, completed actually) my 2nd character, a Blademaster, on Elite. I am able to clear all three dungeons on my first try but somehow moving to Ultimate proves that my build is too weak. Just wondering where have I gone wrong? This is extremely frustrating as I’ve died at least twice before even reaching the first boss.
Most of my res is around 40%, the gears from Elite are just not that great I guess?
Any advise is much appreciated, thank you all in advance.

Leave Blade Spirit at level 1, it’s only good to proc devotions.
Get both Veil of Shadow (maybe level 6 or so) and Night’s Chill (i always leave it at level 10). Also get Blade Barrier.
I suggest removing some points from Ring of Steel. Honestly i would leave at level 1 since it doesn’t do much even at high levels. Leave Circle of Slaughter at level 12.
Just my opinion but get Oleron’s Rage. Lots of OA and movement speed plus you’ll get more stats and health from the mastery bar.
I suggest upping resists to around 60%, at least the top row ones.
In addition to the above it can add that it would be better to abandon the whirling death, it reduces your damage on a single target
Norzan’s response is what you should do. However, Ring of steel should definitely be a one-pointer skill (if you use, it’s actually a damage loss, so it’s used for crowd control with the transmuter) , and oleron’s rage is absolutely necessary. @OP I think you got the gist about blademasters wrong - they are melee weapon auto-attackers instead of the semi-casters you are building

I think Norzan hit all the salient points. Your resists are too low, your area damage is too high at the cost of single target damage output, and you aren’t making use of soldier. My suggestions below.
Thank you everyone for the help. Just tried the build yesterday and it worked better albeit still died a couple of times. Just hoping to loot some better items with nice res stats on it.
