Looks like it packs more punch on paper (got twice as much fire damage, although much less other elemental damages)
more burn damage (I find it irrelevant for this build since it’s not a dot build)
Cons:
not sure about mana problems her
Lot less defense (10% less phys es, base armor absorption, lot less DA)
less procs (no glove proc, no belt proc, no attuned lodestone proc).
So far I am running with the first setup and still level 75 in the middle of Ultimate. It seems very viable, but I am having doubts if I should choose more glass cannon’ish setup for more damage and just kite more since this kind of build is not going to solo crucible anyway.
What do you think? (please, answer after you watched inspected both setups closely).
From your option, I might play current setup. @ulzuin’s setup : why don’t you use ulzuin’s torment belt
Firestrike is all about fire. No cold, a little bit lightning(which is not necessary).
Lightning bonus is for only procs and some thermite mine dmg(Actually ulzuin’s is very good for skyfire grenado). High %bonus is fine though.
So if you want to rely on using firestrike DW gunslinger. Just only fire is enough. Another is what to do with chaos dmg from very good brimstone.
Go on support Fire&Chaos. [Infernal Knight is recommend, BWC is good and you can get full set skills too]
Converted Chaos to Aether. [by Albrecht’s Duality ring, or some part of Clairvoyant’s set / IMO Iskandra’s may be better]
You can play offensive setup in vanilla(main campaign) if you don’t plan to beat hard stuff.
Trust me, you will not feel very tanky once you hit Ultimate Fabius. You can’t kite him while doing damage at the same time, so you’ll basically have 6-7 seconds of damage time while Blast Shield and Mirror are up and then you’re running for your life while they’re on cooldown. Neither of your builds are tanky enough to facetank him and do DPS without those skills active. For that reason I’d recommend getting Mirror to 12/12 so that you’re waiting for less time.
You’re getting greedy with double Devil’s Touched Ammo for fire conversion without any Haunted Steels for life steal and, more importantly, the Bloodthirster ability. For a good baseline, take a look at Ving’s Fire/Chaos Sorceror build. The main things he has that you don’t are…
Haunted Steel with Bloodthirster (although your Ghoul devotion functions similarly).
BWC to reduce physical damage
About 2250 effective DA (again thanks to BWC but also his Kings MIs).
An extra 1k health (mainly due to his Kings MIs).
Granted you have points in Maiven’s and have a boatload more physical resist, but since your DA is low and you don’t have damage reduction aside from Kymon’s Will (half as effective as High Potency) you’re gonna’ be in trouble.
It’s extremely difficult to get away with 0 MIs while having the level of tankiness you need to actually output your DPS. If you don’t care about doing Edge of Reality or Nemesis content however, both of those builds are solid and should be fun =)
I got that 1 point to BWC with High Potency advice couple of times now, I will do that.
I simply do not have those rare mi’s and I have no idea how that dude got 2,1k da with Ulzuin tbh.
I don’t need Haunted Steel, I have Ghoul and 10% ADTCH from gear and devotions, plus proc from Deviltongue, plus Demon Breath, plus little bit of Life Leech damage from devotions. So I am sustaining fine, I don’t think Haunted Steel will be the deal breaker in Fabius fight.
Right now with Iskandra’s setup it’s fun and all, but Cronley kill at level 75 is whopping 20 seconds. Feels like I am not doing much damage. Gonna try both setups tho and come back with build guide for a beginner’s friendly fun gunslinger that does not require any MI’s.
