Which stat affects damage after conversion?

Hi All,
Cunning affects physical damage, and Spirit affects magical damage.
Now if there is a damage conversion from one type to the other, then which stat will affect the final damage?
E.g. if all elemental is converted to physical, then will the toon’s Spirit still affect the final damage? Or will it now be Cunning?
(yeah, noob question, sorry if it’s already been answered somewhere)
