After doing PV ( hardest dungeon - < emphasis ) and BOC in ultimate difficulty, i got 0 legendary, just 1 of 4 rare mats(manticore eye) and 12 magelord greaves and 7 emp mask of delirium. Then i happen to encounter moose in ultimate 2 times and only noticable drop was radajax blueprint which is never used in any end game effective builds( probably this is valid for any 2h ranged). Weird part is hive queen has better legendary drop speed than any dungeons if you think time and cost. Of course, she dropped many duplicates of 2h bleeding and 2h chaos items which will never be used probably( i didnt see any build using it either that is posted on this forum). Sometimes there are new legendary drops which i have never had but with shitty rolls so many do not want in trade ( or no use to me either).
At least thanks to nice community, some people are kind enough to agree on to get rare mats from me in return for my desired legendary. Without trading, i would never achieve or proceed in the game. Trading must never be an essential thing for a game like this to enjoy. However thx to them, i am being able to enjoy the game :). Aside from shittest crappest reward mechanics ( it is almost at a point of D3), my suggestion for the people who are struggling, just trade with mats. Only problem of it is you don’T have the feeling of “achieved” which is another topic.
Dungeons loot are pretty random, sometimes you get a bunch of useless epics, sometimes 4-5 legendaries, your sample size is probably too small. Anyway I think the most effective way to get leggies is repeating 130-150 challenger crucible if you can beat it, the only time we need to farm dungeons is for the bosses MIs. I’ve got all the Alkamos stuffs in like 30 runs I think, haven’t got anything from Sharzul or Aldritch yet
Read the suggestion and you will see you don’t need that much stock as you imagined because rare mats drops often legendaries even when you are level 20-30
You should have posted this in rants, because clearly you don´t give a damn about other people´s opinion on this. You just shit all over their replies.
But I guess i´d do the same, if i knew I was right about everything.
What are you rumbling about? My replies do not attack or insult anyone. Quote a reply in this thread and show which part is “shitting”. Maybe you are touchy/slight too much ?
Irrelevant. You said that it’s not used in any endgame builds, and he corrected you. There are near infinite builds, you can’t expect to find them all on the forums.
The reason to farm for legendaries is that it should be fun. If it’s not fun, don’t do it. Sometimes I play for 5 hours and find nothing good, other times I’ll find a couple good legendaries and a half dozen rare MIs in a single 20 minute crucible run. That’s just how Diablo-inspired games function. If you like trading better, stick with that; there’s nothing wrong with either approach.
It seems like you’re already convinced that farming isn’t worth it, and if that’s the case, there’s nothing anyone can say to convince you otherwise.
I am not sure what your proposed alternative is, farming mats you then trade for legendaries ? How does that differ from farming legendaries, does this really result in a noticeable difference in farming routes ?
Not much difference in route but very difference in time and very very less rng dependence. It is very easy or sometimes guareented to find 1 of 3 rare mats(blood/tainted/ancient) while getting desired legendary is harder because x 200 more pool size(aroung 650 legendaries i guess ? ) and multiply this by 3 for good rolls. So lets say 600 times harder. In addition all to this, they are convertible to each other while you can not convert your legendaries to another set piece. Other good thing is you can dismantle legendaries or blues and get rare mats which makes it easier. All of this combined, you can say 1000 times easier =). Thanks to community, i can just give rare mats and get my desired legendary. Problem as i say is sometimes it feels cheap.
With that logic, there are no useless legendaries if you have super duper rolled rare MI lots of gear. Which requires 2000 hours maybe? So that argument fails because 1-in 2000 hours you probably have %95 of stuff. If you don’t, then game reward mechanics or rng mechanics failed big time, 2- If you have super of every slot and then you can just sacrifice one slot and put white item in that slot and ta da you have end game which is white colored. Every item can be end game with that logic. So yours and his logic is failure.
I don’t think it is fun when there is so much pool size and knowing it can drop it anywhere. It appealed at first, but in practice it is a failure game decision. People want to see their labours give fruit. If you watch/practice videos about programming( lets call this farming), you can get java certificate (desired legendary drop). In this game, you farm poison boss and get fire related feet. So pure rng, inclined rng are all failure choices. I dont want to get carpenter certificate after i watch java videos. Nobody wants that
For me if i dont see any build around it in forums or elsewhere, it means unused. If it is something good, it is used commonly and we all would see it. Logic is simple. Also i didn’t say endgame builds should not have mis, i said if you can fill every slot with an item that is perfect, every item can be end game ;). We are talking about “reachable” milestones not 10000 in 1.
You don’t see a lot of builds here for two reasons:
Some minmaxers believe if they post something it’ll be nerfed, so they keep it within closed circles.
Others just don’t post because it’s too much effort to make a detailed post that might only be seen by a few people over the span of a few months.

You stand corrected. I like farming.
Sure, I´m used to it. I´ve been farming in WoW for weeks (yes, real-time) and it´s okay because I can go brain-afk and play. I don´t farm rogue-like dungeons; I farm areas where I don´t need much concentration.
Typical road in Elite:
Dreeg-Sect–>Cronley–> Hive (Twin Falls)–> Solael-Sect–> Dermapteran Hive–> Bysmiel-Sect plus Queen.
In Ultimate I skipped Twin Falls and added Fabius to my farm route. Okay, I´m not playing Hardcore so dying while brain-afk at Fabius is okay. But I got my Legendaries and, as someone already said, I got a stock for trading. And Scrap plus Coins for Crafting.
And so now I have, with a little luck, the best I can get for my build and could farm BoC if I want. Port Valbury would be tricky, too many possibilities to die when not giving full attention.
I would second this, Its the reasons I don’t post about my mains build. Basically, You can facetank mog and clone with the odd potion pop. I don’t think I could handle a nerf again after what they did to my 100% block chance & 100% block recovery builds x.x
