Why did Crate remove reflect on crystals?

They were providing a fair challenge by reflecting all RR, CC, mana burn, damage and full duration DoTs at player for roughly 40% of the game. Not in any meaningful values, mind you, but just enough to be annoying and fill the debuff section with 10+ icons.
Might rename it to Grim Diablo 3 at the next expansion, since the game became THIS casual. Though Grim Exile would be more apt because PoE too got a console release and backed down on glorious reflect mechanics.
Honestly, they should reflect Grava’Thul’s projectile at player each time they take damage instead, if old reflect is not an option.

Personally i was was with reflect on them. But you have no idea how many players complained about it.

Some players still stack tons of %reflect resistance even if reflect is such a rare occurance. Idk why this extreme fear of reflect

What crystals are these?

Green clusters, used to have reflect that lasted like 0.5 sec

Hopefully because I kept complaining. :stuck_out_tongue:

Aether Crystals, I’d imagine.

I think that if you were some kind of super hero, talking back to you, imitating your every word and movement would be your weakness:D

I have reflectophobia, Fluff. More RDR, please!

Jokes aside, some heroic mobs can annihilate you with their critted reflected DoTs. I tested both Avenger and Tactician, both of them were downed to Menhir’s Will.

It’s a no joke.

Mate you have to try really hard or be really unlucky to get a ZT crit in campaign with avenger on a temp reflect mob.

I think you just got unlucky and felt unkillable. Avenger can give that false sense of security now

Maybe, maybe… I’m revamping my setup anyway. I will post the feedback after a more in-depth testing. We shall see.

Not a big fan of reflect too, it’s already the bane of my physical build. And the problem was that with melee builds you often had to deal with both reflects and ground damage, resulting in a sort of kiting… of an immobile target

i’m glad they changed it personnaly (i wonder if they didn’t tone it down for skeleton knights too)

I remember when they reflected dmg and were immune to aether. >_> Thank God Crete listened to comiunity and changed them to curent state.

You casual:p

I wasn’t a fan of making it an annoyance to collect a basic crafting ingredient with some builds. Even less so when the areas where you could pick up crystals while farming other things are thick with aether tornados and ground damage. It didn’t add any real challenge - it just slowed down gameplay in an unfun way.

Not sure if serious or not.

If serious, aether crystals having reflect didn’t add any challenge, it just made gathering aether crystals annoying.

I pilot DoT builds mostly and I rarely encounter it so this is weird. I am indifferent about the poll, it doesn’t affect me in the least bit

Also, don’t crystals die in one hit? How much damage can they do?

If you ever played an early game bloody pox build, you would die faster than you could damage the crystal. So you had use bloody pox on mobs and then use physical attacks on the crystal.

The reflect on the crystals for dot builds was pretty bad. Very noticeable on campaign but I assume you play crucible predominantly

Except I hate Crucible with a passion. If it’s early game then I don’t have any response besides “git gud”.
In late game, the procs kill the crystals in most cases, the reflection itself is hardly noticeable in late game cause if you have end game gear then you are most certainly going to be ridiculously resistant to your own damage type

Reflective Heroes pose more of a threat than the crystals tbh and even those one can easily tackle i.e kite when their aura is on (DoT builds in my experience are better of doing this)

I leveled with pox long ago and don’t remember this

I’m not sure I agree that a static object reflecting a significant portion of your damage was “challenging”, mostly just annoying.

WHAT? I never noticed they lost their reflect.
