Why DID Grim Dawn change the usual ARPG item colors?

My quess is many of the initial audience for the game came from Titan Quest, so given Artur worked on it it felt natural to keep it. Personally I found about the game on the TQ forums

tldr “this one game did X/did X first therefor all subsequent games should do X”

amazing take, astounding

Would be crazy if blizz’ own subsequent game broke with that established design and changed item colouring entirely a few years later (WoW) - good thing we can 100% discard that entry since it’s not an "a"rpg ofc :scorv:

Always amusing to see the most irrelevant threads get the most activity. Damn, I’ve added to it.

Gonna add to it as well, and say this is the most non-issue imaginable. Legit "Who cares?.

I see we’ve reached peak critique.

Titan Quest’s actually made more sense because it followed the ROYGBV color spectrum. Diablo had no rhyme or reason to it.

And nowadays people are using Rainbow filter mod to change the colors to whatever the fuck, so all convention is out the window anyway.

Is it not enough that you have posted this whole nonsense at steam?

Ang you get your answers there?

Suggestion to get the paperwork started on the Grim Dawn item color ISO Standard technical report.

The stuff people complain about these days. Way too soft. Don’t appreciate anything. Can’t allow entertainment to be entertaining. Wouldn’t last a day in my childhood growing up dirt poor. I am not even close to being old either. Good grief. Don’t like the game, don’t play it. It’s not like you shelled out major cash either. I am surprised he didn’t ask for a refund. That seems to be so popular these days.
