Why is Crate rigging the item drops?

Runs in Grim Dawn can simply be very inconsistent

The only loot tracking the game does is within a single session to reduce frequency of duplicate drops during that session.
Then it’s not working as expected because I got two pairs of Desecrator Threads within a minute of each other.

And it’s fully within Crate’s power to give us that loot on demand, therefore every related misfortune is their fault and we should never let them forget it. :furious:

Are they clear? Lemme tell you something about luck. (copy pasted from my other post)

In the last 20 mins I did 4 Twin Falls hive runs and 1 Tomb of the Watchers.

Hive Queen (poison type boss), Bane’Gargaroth, Guardian of the Gate (poison type boss)

1st Queen drop: Mythical Venomspine Greaves
2nd Queen drop: Mythical Viperfang Grips
3rd Queen drop: Mythical Mutiny (Acid based pistol)
4th Queen drop: Mythical Venomspine Greaves
Bane’Gargaroth drop: Mythical Venomspine Greaves

Now I’m asking you…what are the chances?

What happened to me there was something I won’t get to see again in this life probably. So yeah, RNG at it’s best.

On my way to Rolderathis, I met 4 (5?) Rifthounds.

I said: “Thank you, dear Rifthounds.”

I’m calling him Floorboard Thalonis forever now and no one can stop me!

This is why I clear the screen while on my farming routes. I’ve found far more legendary pieces while running to and from the bosses than I have from the actual bosses themselves. Hell, even troves and chests used to only guarantee disappointment, but Crate did a great job with buffing the drop rates/contents of the high level chests.

It rolls off the tongue much better than “bloodlord”.

I’ve found legendaries on trash mobs. I’ve even found legendaries in small chests and spider webs. People who just rush through and skip everything are missing out.

Found a mythical legendary set item under a rock.

Also want to say how much I love the new marked rock textures. It’s the little things.

Historically speaking it was debated over to try and reign in farming behavior restricting drops so you would have to alternate the bosses you went after; but then crate basically went ‘why do we even actually want to do this’ for and I believe the crucible is the end result of trying to streamline it for people who find the need to grind for the myraid of reasons including getting a characters avg gear level to spec.

It’s the problem with statistics 1% chance or 1 in every 100 technically is maintained technically correct by it actuating 1 in 199 and there’s no reason it cannot actuate 3 times in a row and not for 297 thereafter or even ever again as each test of it’s percentile is inherently completely separate just conforming over it’s lifetime of application generally to the rated 1 in 100 (theoretical).
Personally really missing my D2 magic find gear right now lol.

Which part of REDUCES not REMOVES the chance did you miss.

To clear things up, the prevent duplicate drops system is not very fancy. Game drops a legendary in a session. When it selects the same item again it rerolls the item just once. If the loot pool in question is quite small it’s very possible that it selects the same item again. This is very noticeable with low level epics, I once found two of the same dagger in literally seconds from each other.
