Why is it frustrating? Aren’t they better?
Mages are the best, their meteors can hit the enemy even without line of sight. I usually resummon them though so I have at least 2 revenants as their vitality decay aura and projectiles are awesome, plus they are durable in melee. I wish the skill description showed us full stats - skills and all - for each skeleton type, but I understand it cannot be done properly.
One thing I noticed, even without buying any upgrades to the skill, the Blight Beast has a poison vomit attack that it uses sometimes.
Seconded it’s like they believe that a persons complaint on character balances etc. from a standard of anything but max level is invalid even if the person has done that before hand with multiple characters already.
I mean get over yourself you’re not a crate employee, you are not some data analyst trying to trump up business by breaking down grim dawn mechanisms to their absolutes and the all else are ludites mentality is not even a reasoned/helpful opinion.
Your basically shitting on people because you think your personal experience elevates you as a player in a predominantly single player focused game that is not even in contention for an e-sport.
I mean how more retarded, vitriolic and asinine can you get?
Level 50 items start having a little more variety for builds; level 30 is when a build can take shape, level 70 is when a build really takes off.
But yeah up until level 30 the game is ‘temple of elemental evil’ all the boring parts of the system presented as the main game (Still can’t believe T.o.E.E only took D&D to 10th level *shakes head).
The upside is you can take a character fairly easily up to level 25 with nothing but good itemization so it doesn’t ‘have’ to rely on it’s build.
Arguably some builds breeze through to this character level due to Instacast no cooldown AoE skills & that raises expectations.
Not to hijack the thread but anyone else notice the big gap in leveled faction gear (at least for a necro summoner)? Act 5 Elite Malmouth was just such an incredibly taxing experience.
Not sure if I just had a bad streak of RNG on drops or that’s the way it really is, which is why I ask.
So did the first Baldur’s Gate, and it was an immensely fun game with tons of replay options. TOEE was terrible because the adventure itself was a cliche boring thing, no matter how well the combat system was.
Personally I skipped elite AoM, wasn’t worth the time. If you go straight to ulti, you get easier zones that drop more legendaries(especially if you hit all the one shot chests and devo shrines), which makes it actually easier to deal with AoM when you hit it again in ultimate.
I’ve been more or less following your guide, self found as a first char, and haven’t had any real issues, I used just random greens with the pet aether/chaos resist mods or pet ele resist mods, some ascendant cowl for +3 undead legion with some other random crap(with +1necro, that’s an additional skeleton), warden mace, random green offhands that summon the hound that casts an aoe that heals and then random other pure resist slots, I only started getting good items for the build at like ~90 and didn’t buy any faction gear.
I guess if you’re asking about the lack of faction gear only and not how hard/easy it is self found, I’d say there was a bunch of stuff from faction vendors, I just didn’t like them. The one item I liked was the Claw of whatever, crafted mythical dagger with some pet bonuses and +1necro.
Elite AoM seems poorly designed tbh, it’s super hard, I’d say about as hard as Ultimate AoM comparatively due to gear affixes jump and increased droprates in ultimate, and there’s literally no reward for doing it, just a few respec potions(which you can get speed running chars through normal or whatever) and a measly 3 devo shrines and AoM in general felt weak in terms of one shot chests, while the whole thing takes a long time.
4chan culture I guess. Reddit is also fairly elitist and vitriolic.
I actually thought it a rather apt microcosm of D&D… just like the movie was; but yes you are right it was terrible, just like the movie was
