I started a new save to mess around with the Plains map and once winter hit, the villagers that were builders, labors, or famers just ended up killing themselves by doing literally nothing. They kept having a notice saying “unable to work” and would just stand in one place, causing them to die to exposure and/or starvation. 4 villagers have already died, and I have 3 more standing there doing nothing. Even manual commands to try to get them to move to a specific location doesn’t do anything, they are completely bugged out being “unable to work”.
My sister just told me about winter causing her to lose 100 people to exposure/starvation even though she had plenty of food and firewood, so I believe she was experiencing the same thing I was in some way. This completely ruins your save and production chains as there is nothing you can do to stop it. I have a short 1-minute video recording this incident if needed, I just don’t know how/if I can include in this post.
Another update- I restarted again and went to an auto save that was about 10 minutes before the last save I joined last. I originally had 6 farm fields (3 in the process of still being built) that the workers were working on when winter hit and they died. I removed 3 that were not completed and when that winter came, I didn’t have this issue. So, not if it’s somehow linked to the unfinished farm fields and when construction is halted due to winter.
Zip up the entire TownName_###### folder along with the .map file and .sav that reproduces the issue. If the files are too big, you can use a service such as Google Drive to share it with us.
I haven’t been able to reproduce the issue. After I loaded the save up from the auto save, it continued to work without issue and that auto save file has since been saved over with each new auto save (not sure if there is any other way to find it). I did create a new world and attempted to recreate the issue and so far it hasn’t occurred again. I will continue to do some testing to see if I can recreate the issue and upload a save file if I can!
