so a quick question on discord made me try something, and then i thought i noticed something
does/can WPS potentially have a bias towards “something” depending on “something”, assuming stuff like points/proc chance supposedly should be equal?
i ask this because i noticed when i use Shadow Strike as “auto attack filler” during cooldowns, it appears like it’s, consistently, leaning towards proccing Execution, despite being equal proc chance to Whirlind Death AQC and Markovian, with Zolhan actually having 28% chance vs the others’ 22%
everytime at/around the time Shadow Strike goes off cooldown and is about to be auto used (holding down the button) i will get a series of Execution triggers, like 3-4, aside from what seems a predominantly amount of Execution during the auto attack/SS cooldown
anyone had similar effect happen/can “confirm” this? is this just totally RNG?, rng working as intended? Me staring myself blind on executions?/seeing executions because i want to see executions?
or is there potentially actually something happening, like “bias” towards Execution because it’s similar in animation to SS??
I had some experience with Rah’zin WH recently; not the thing you’re suggesting but atleast it’s related to Execution. %100 total wps(%22 Execution, %23 WD and BS, %32 Burning Void) and I was hitting more single target than AoE wps; then I increased WD and BS to %24, left Execution at %20, still %100 wps, suddenly I started to feel AoE more. But it can be just pure rng.
ye my 2nd “conspiracy theory” was that maybe it’s biased to “the wps you pointed last” or something @_@
or, aside from RNG being rng, maybe execution just somehow weighs a little heavier on equal spread ?
that is where i just come from, since it’s easier to spot on dummies than in a crowd - so i had to check here if i was seeing things or going crazy
i “noticed” it because Execution and SS animation being similar it kinda looked like SS dragged on/continued for a while, and at closer inspection turned out it was just a handful of Executions each time aside from the 1SS hit
since i dont’ have nightfall on, the SS hit retains only the shadow cloud, and execution does the frost bit, so was somewhat simple to tell them apart even when they happened around the same time
Pure RNGesus’ness, I guess. I had Shadoflame WPS from Shadowflame Mantle not proccing a single fucking time in ~40 seconds of non-stop shooting at ~190% AS. But sometimes I get two of them in a row (1% chance).

(since i created the thread i just get notifications, it doesn’t say anything whether it was an actual reply to me, or if to Xande @_@)
Ok, sorry for perhaps stupid question but just making sure - you’re not mistaking Markovian’s Advantage with Execution because they both have the same animation just different colors, if I’m not mistaken?
yes and no
it might have added a bit to the perception of how much execution’ish animation filled up the auto attacks,
but even removing markovian it still seems like Execution “chains” around Shadow Strike attack itself
edit
okay, “mathing it out” it seems like i get 12 attacks inbetween SS cooldowns with even 1/4 leaning towards Execution as part of regular rng, would still line up with normal behavior, and it’s just rng it appears to happen so often/around SS time - which would also explain why sometimes the “chain” happens both before or after the SS hit
not like wps are gonna do a nice little 1-2-3-4"each your turn" trigger
