Yet another Performance thread

Hello guys,

I’ve been looking up every single thread, every comment, every article about performance problems and tried pretty much everything and yet nothing seems to help.

Specs: I5-2500K overclocked, Geforce 660GTX, 8gb ram, Windows 7.

My frames hover around 15-20 fps in big fights and 20-30fps while standing around doing nothing. The funny thing is that changes in video quality don’t affect fps in any way whatsover. Putting everything on the absolute max results in the exact same fps as having everything turned off and on the lowest setting.

I still tried pretty much eveything and nothing seems to have any effect on fps at all. Alwas the same low fps. I lowered all video settings, adjusted and manually set core usage, enabled multicore usage in options.txt, tried every variation of core affinity in the task manager, updated drivers, changed nvidia settings according to several suggestions, set windows energy options to maximum performance. Again, nothing had any effect on FPS.

Doesn’t seem to be a single core usage issue either, because the game isn’t using any cores to their fullest at all. It’s not like one core is at 100% and the others are not being used. It’s more like every core is at 15%. This is even more pronounced in crucible. Feels like the game doesn’t even want to use any hardware ressources at all and rather stays at 20fps not using any cpu and gpu.

I’m really at a loss here and would appreciate any help you guys could offer.

TL;DR: Game has low FPS (especially in crucible). Graphic settings don’t have any effect on fps. Game doesn’t use any CPU cores or GPU at their fullest.

Does your motherboard have integrated graphics, if so check that GD is using your nvidia card in the settings. Sorry to say nothing else springs to mind at the moment,

Using my 660GTX in options, so probably not the issue.

I didn’t think it was likely either, but worth a hope. It’s the lack of changes in fps that baffles me. :undecided:

Yeah, same FPS on whatever settings and resolution is just weird.
