Scout Avins
When the sky turned crimson like blood, I had a feeling you were involved.{^n}{^n}What happened?
A Kurn demigod sought to corrupt the land. Instead, we cleansed it.
A demigod? Cleansed?{^n}{^n}You are going to have to start from the beginning!
This tale defies explanation!
I will be sure to file a scouting report.
Would you look at the time...
You would not believe me if I told you.
Have you learned anything new about the situation up north?
I gained entry to a Kurn settlement.
They allowed you to enter unharmed?{^n}{^n}That is a tremendous opportunity. Our forces have not stepped foot in the valley in decades.{^n}{^n}Learn what you can and report back!
I will.
Not yet.
I was expecting grim tidings when I asked you to search for the other scouts, but you pulled through!{^n}{^n}We will mourn those lost and give what aid we can to the survivors. They owe their lives to you.{^n}{^n}The corrupted beast is another matter entirely. Did you learn of its origins? Were the Kurn behind it?
The beast is a mystery, but the Kurn appear to be innocent in this.
How can you be certain?{^n}{^n}They are practitioners of vile magics fueled by their heathen worship. It would not be beyond them to twist a beast so.
One of them fended off the creature and saved our scouts.
That is unexpected.{^n}{^n}I would be careful. They may be playing tricks in an effort to gain entry to the fort.
They may be allies. I will find out.
I will be careful.
I will learn the truth.
I intend to find out.
Any luck in your search?
Yes! I will have the scouts back here shortly.
What a relief. I knew you were the person for the task!
I must get back to them.
I will give you an update soon.
Any luck in your search?
I found the scouts, but a void-warped beast threatens their lives.
A beast? Then it was not the Kurn...{^n}{^n}Unless the Kurn corrupted the creature and set it upon our men?!
The creature will die like all the rest.
I will deal with the creature and uncover the truth.
Yes, I need to get back there.
Any luck in your search?
Where am I supposed to look again?
You must take the northwest gate out of Fort Ikon. It should be unlocked to you.{^n}{^n}Proceed north into the Frostveil Highlands and look for any clues as to the whereabouts of our scouts.{^n}{^n}I suspect the Kurn are involved. If my hunch is correct, you should be on your guard.
Who are the Kurn?
They are savages, bloodthirsty and ruthless people who worship heathen gods. In another age, they were dealt a crushing defeat by the Erulan empire and had not dared to cross into our lands since.{^n}{^n}Fort Ikon stands as a testament to this ancient conflict and marks the border between Erulan and the frozen wastes.
I will keep an eye out.
They do not concern me.
Not yet.
If there is any hope of finding them alive, then there is no time to spare!

I'm heading there now.
They will have to fend for themselves a little longer.
I'm headed out there soon.
Apologies for the interruption, but I understand you are the one responsible for scattering the cult's forces in Darkvale Gate?
That would be me.
My apologies. I know the esteemed Inquisitor has you assigned to priority matters, but it would seem that when disaster strikes, it rears many heads.
What's the situation?
Just a few days ago, I and the rest of my troop were dispatched to the northwest on what should have been a routine scouting mission. And for me, it largely was, a few beast sightings, but nothing of concern.{^n}{^n}However, my companions never returned from their routes. The frozen reaches of Asterkarn are home to all manner of creatures, but I suspect it is not them we are contending with. Asterkarn is also home to the Kurn, our ancient enemies.I have little doubt that they are behind these disappearances.{^n}{^n}The Inquisitor cannot spare additional troops, but a lone agent of your caliber may succeed. I beg you, venture northwest from Fort Ikon and into the frigid north of the Frostveil Highlands. Learn the fate of our missing brothers and sisters.{^n}{^n}(This begins the Fangs of Asterkarn expansion content)
I will find the missing scouts.
There are more important matters. Sorry.
Who are the Kurn?
They are savages, bloodthirsty and ruthless people who worship heathen gods. In another age, they were dealt a crushing defeat by the Erulan empire and had not dared to cross into our lands since.{^n}{^n}Fort Ikon stands as a testament to this ancient conflict and marks the border between Erulan and the frozen wastes.Even though the bulk of our forces is committed to pushing back the Aetherials and Chthonians, Inquisitor Creed has wisely insisted that we ensure the Kurn do not try anything while our backs are turned.{^n}{^n}It would be like those honorless brutes to attack when we are contending with the enemies of mankind!
Alright. I will look for the scouts.
I do not wish to tangle with these Kurn.
What was the situation again?

I'll be back.
You must have me confused with someone else.
Sorry, I can't talk right now.
I'm sorry, but I cannot talk right now.{^n}{^n}I bring grave tidings from the north that the commander must hear immediately.
I see. Farewell.
