I did some theorycrafting and came up with my own variation which I am currently using.
Cleansing waters -> Oleron’s Might
Maul -> Blitz
The blue crossroads point could be moved around but I left it there for now.

You’re welcome!
I’ve also developed another setup, with Manticore constellation for so much needed resistance reduction (cause it reduces life and energy leech resistances as well as physical):
https://grimcalc.com/build/s5pa2Kj
It’s less tanky, and has less movespeed/slow resistance, but provides more OA, more ADCTH (to make it up for medal) and more potent+reliable resistance reduction.
For me, tankiness is higher priority (and DPS is good anyways).
Mortal K et all…
After much fiddlin’ with everything this is what I am using atm…
http://grimcalc.com/build/OvaDXm9
Mortal K, I liked your devotion setup but for the love of god without your gear and changing all my augs/comps around…I felt like I was gonna die at every mob party.
Ya’ know what I really, really like? (Well, ya don’t so Imma gonna tell ya.) Dryad’s Blessing bound to blitz.
And not so sure 'bout my 3 points in unknown soldier…those can be moved as needed I figure.
Also…
What is the consensus on this axe? Best one I’ve found so far. No OA & only 5% ias
but other than that…
Yes…I have Olerons on it atm. Will switch to haunted steel sometime soon.
Feedback welcome.
Does the blood grove vendor scale with difficulty or can I try and farm him on elite?
Already level 75
I have a couple quick questions.
Does the Markovian’s CD reduction work on things like devotion procs and procs from items?
What do you guys think about Runic Bracers? I know they’re just blues, but they’ve got a lot of great defensive stats and the proc seems really amazing. If Markovian’s CD reduction reduces this proc then it seems like it would become godlike… 33% physical reduction is huge, no? I mean, we’re trading 1 skill point for 1% physical reduction each in Aspect of the Guardian, so a whopping 33 skill points worth of proc popping off frequently (not counting the other resists) seems like it is worth a ton.
Marcovians and cd reduction in general applies to devotions but does not apply to item procs.
Gotcha, thanks.
The gloves still seem pretty good for 40% uptime on 33% physical resistance.
Them gloves are ok but either handguards of justice or collosal grasp are bis for a markovian build.
I prefer the latter.
I use Grasp of Unchained Might, even despite i have Handguards of Justice. Offensively, Grasp of Unchained Might better (especially considering the proc).
It also depends on roll - mine Handguards of Justice have just 13% AS, and Grasp of Unchained Might - 18% (because they drop very often, and i’ve selected ones with best roll).
I’d rather used Menhir’s Bastion (instead of Oleron’s Wrath).
Its ability is active, so you can activate it when you need it the most. It is also much more powerful defensively, cause it also provides damage absorbtion and bonuses to maximum elemental resistances. Not to mention passive physical resist and block chance, and you dont lose sweet +1 to soldier skills bonus.
They both have +1 soldier skills
How much ADCTH do you have? Cause you know, it’s your (and mine) main source of healing. Dryad’s heal is laughable compared to this. If you have less than 10%, that’s the root of your problem. I have 13%, with 45k DPS, and that’s barely enough for me in crucible.
Your axe isnt much better from ordinary “Tyrant’s” one, actually, “of Slayer” suffix is very weak for you.
If you have a lot iron, just mass-craft “normal” axes, to get “Tyrant’s”/“of abyss” with another GOOD mod. “Tyrant’s” is actually not so uncommon, can proc 2-3 times for full inventory crafted. I made my axe via crafting, it’s pretty solid to start with.
BTW, i believe the BEST MI base is Spectral Battle Axe. A pity - secret vendor doesnt sell those.
That’s what i meant when typed “dont lose”.
Vendor’s stuff scales with your level only, difficulty is irrelevant.
:eek:That happens when you read to fast.
My bad
How do I find out my ADCTH? Just look at everything(!) and add it up? Or is there an easier way?
And thanks for the axe feedback…I’ll work on that.
In the second stats page right below where it says your physical, pierce, internal trauma and bleed damage, it says life steal. That’s your ADCTH.
OMG…3%. Ok,…need to work on that.
small update:
post 1.0.0.5. reavers claw is worse. green bonescyth axes with 100% phys dmg are definitively the best now. not super hard to farm a decent one. even something like superior of alacrity is ok.
blitz is huge now, its like an AOE shadowstrike. maxing cadence itself isn’t really nessariy. maxing blitz+deadly momentum should be the highest priority.
keeping cadence at lvl 16 and fighting form at lvl 1 is ok.
badge vs blackstar - probably still blackstar for the resists/leech but if u have something like 3 blitz 2 cadence badge to help u 26/16 blitz its probably worthwhile.
someone brought up the unreliability of assassin’s mark. this is a very good point however, i’m not sure if theres really a much better way to get the prereqs as the devo node gives nice prereq.
harpy is history since no longer using %pierce weapon.
I think, Fighting Form should be leveled to 12, too. With that, Cadence will hit 3 targets (up from 2), and that’s a big difference. Blitz is great, but it’s still limited by CD, while Cadence isnt.
Assassin’s Mark is unreliable only if linked to something like MA. I link it to Cadence itself, and it’s much more reliable with it. Also, you should have at least 5-10% crit VS boss, to trigger it well. But if you dont, it means you have too low OA and you lose a lot of DPS due to misses.
And i dont think you should max out Blitz too. It’s far too much skill points, and Blitz (same to most active skills) get much weaker bonus for levels above maximum. Where will you get those skillpoints, btw? I can hardly max out both Blitz and Cadence.
This is way i dont overlvl cadence or maxing fighting form, while cadence is similar weapon dmg as blitz, blitz hits with both hands and on 8 targets requriing no charge up, instant aoe clear is great for eaiser stuff like boc or farming.
On harder content like high lvl crucible u often may need to kite, making cadence stacking difficult, however with blitz u can burst and kite in between cds. Its simply too strong to pass up. I had to choose between overllvling cadence or maxing fighting form vs blitz, id pick blitz anyday.
Actually, if you try to kite, you will die even faster, just because you dont receive healing from ADCTH. I like Fighting Form, it helps a lot against small crowds. And BTW, Anvil proc is one of the most powerful source of damage against large packs - those flying hammers deal 92% damage each, and it often spawns 3-5 hammers. You may overlevel Blitz, not sure if it matter much in crucible, though. The best skill to overlevel is Deadly Momentum, anyway. It adds the most damage, cause it apllies to all skills and procs.
of course deadly momentum deserves as many pts as possible.
anvil seems like a good skill, i haven’t tried it before. got to wave 100 on glad without using any tribute buffs before i quit. seemed like kiting was needed, but maybe with tribute buffs and ACDTH it wont be, can’t comment since i haven’t tried.
i still think overlvling blitz is better than overlvling cadecne+maxing fighitng form, but i haven’t given the latter much of a try. so if u have tried both extensively and found cadence the better i won’t argue with that.
