[1.0.0.4] Cadence Witchblade - 100% unkillable, 100% faceroll build

Because those buffs together made this build the strongest build in GD.

For me, more legendaries isnt good. I dont like, that majority of BiS gear pieces for every build are legendaries, and that the build, that isnt well-supported by proper legendaries, will usually be weak.

I’d like to see MI/rares to be more useful, than they are. MI with great rolls are much, MUCH harder to get, than legendary (even well-rolled). And despite of that, legendary item is so strong, that MI have no chance, no matter what rolls they will get.

I can only hope that will be the case. But nerfing things is traditionally the “easier” way out, especially considering the amount of buffs they would need to crank out if they were to go the buffing route.

Yeah I would bet on us being nerfed but I really would lose interest if it happened. I have only really worked on this one build since I started the game, over 1100 hours ago. I had a witchblade before it was good and put a LOT of effort into it. If I get nerfed after that it would be annoying lol. It’s very strong sure but shouldn’t it be ? All this bis gear and well planned out build shhould make it very good.

I think one way to balance the game is to fix caster skills. They suck really badly and make builds like this look overpowered.

Edited.
Nevermind. This was a Sigil of Consumption question but upon further research adcth is only for the sigil skill not for my actual attk damage. Fail.

Random semi-related question… Bonecleaver vs. Bonescythe, does it really matter? The difference seems negligible, if the right modifiers are there.

One can get more modifiers than the other

Bonescythe provides OA, which is quite signficant. Bonecleaver is just a bit faster, than “normal” Exalted Double Axe (i had 145% AS with first, and 142% with second).

It seems i was wrong about Hidden Path guardians (146 wave in Crucible).
Guardian of Dreeg summons “Eye of guardian” mobs, and those apply 50% reduced resistance with their attacks (or whatever it is). The other two Guardians (Solael and Bysmiel) are unable to reduce your resistances.

So, the Guardian of Dreeg is the only one, who makes REAL DANGER. When you’ve killed him and all his eyes (i advice to do it as fast as possible), the remaining two guardians and their adds will do negligible damage, and pose no threat at all.

So the stupid eyes aren’t just annoying, they are the real dangers. Good to know!

I knew something was off when the Guardian of Dreeg himself would do pitful damage but as soon as the eyes would do some crap i would suddenly take bigs aumonts of damage.

I completely lost track what has changed.
What devotion setup is the best now?
What comp/augs?
Which weapon?Wich medal (badge with what stats or black star?)?
Which rings?

Someone should make a new guide or something.

I have the same build but I only have half of jinnraG damage, and I lack hugely on OA, but I use chausses and not the ELoV.

Help me please, thanks

About Devotion setup - my latest setup with Scales of Ulcama + Targo the Builder was the best. This builds spams lot of active abilities, and Scales of Ulcama trivializes energy management.

Weapon - realistically, Tyrant’s Exalted Double Axe of Alacrity with 23% damage reduction roll is the best (crafting/vendor are your friends). “Realistically” - because getting something better is pure insane luck, and it wont be much better anyway.

Medal - unless you have BiS weapon (Plaguebearer’s … of Abyss), you will want Black Star of Deceit, for its resistance reduction (and its stats are GREAT too). I dont see, how Badge of Mastery could be better. Especially if you consider my reply about rings.

Rings - just use Justicator’s Signets set. It proven to be the best, due to its OA/DA/HP regen boosts. IF you dont have those, use Ring of Black Matriarch + some great rare/magic rings (or another Ring of Black Matriarch).

About materia - watch my setup. Augments - use those to fix your resistances, if those are capped - look for HP.

Thanks.
Where can i find your setup?
I need these 2 rings then…

2MK
Please can you post your version of skills (w/o gear and maybe with) and gear components?
I read this thread like 2 times and you never posted one
Thank you for your contribution!

He didn’t he’s following this one and changing what he thinks it’s better.

Fine. I guess I’ll try to compile all the changes that numerous members have contributed to. Just remember that this is a group effort to improve on jajaja’s original build, and this setup is what a lot of people think is BiS, but may not be the case, and is subject to change.

Gear:
Helm: Markovian’s Visor
Shoulders: Markovian’s Vanguard
Chest: Markovian’s Platemail
Pants: Solael-Sect Legguards | Empowered Hermit’s Legguards | Chausses of Barbaros | Empowered Legplates of Valor | Arcane Harmony Leggings
Gloves: Grasp of Unchained Might
Boots: Boneshatter Treads
Main hand: Spectral Battle Axe | Bonescythe
Off hand: Markovian’s Bulwark
Belt: Reforged Chains of Oleron
Ring 1: Open Hand of Mercy
Ring 2: Closed Fist of Vengeance
Amulet: Markovian’s Distinction
Medal: Badge of Mastery (+5 Cadence) | Black Star of Deceit
Relic: Menhir’s Bastion | Oleron’s Wrath (+1 Deadly Momentum +1 Squad Tactics)

In a perfect world, we want Tyrant’s and another nice rare suffix on Spectral Battle Axe due to it having life leech, but Bonescythe is so much easier to farm for (secret shop). Tyrant’s is pretty much mandatory, regardless of base weapon type.
Again, in a perfect world, Solael-Sect Legguards with nice prefix suffix combo will be BiS, but good luck on that, because those pants are a real bitch to farm for.
In the relic slot, it really comes down to what you want to do. If you are farming easy content and can afford to trade survivability for damage, then go Oleron’s Wrath, otherwise, Menhir’s Bastion is the safer option.

Components:
Helm: Sanctified Bone
Shoulders: Scaled Hide
Chest: Chains of Oleron
Pants: Ancient Armor Plate | Mutated Scales
Gloves: Consecrated Wrappings
Boots: Mark of Mogdrogen | Mark of the Traveler
Weapons: Imbued Silver | Purified Salt | Battered Shell | Haunted Steel | Oleron’s Blood
Belt: Antivenom Salve | Rigid Shell
Rings: Corpse Dust | Frozen Heart | Roiling Blood | Ectoplasm
Amulet and Medal: Dread Skull | Arcane Spark

For weapons, only use Oleron’s Blood if you don’t have Tyrant’s prefix weapon.
Out of the 4 basic resists, we should only need to cap out Lightning and Poison, I personally recommend using Antivenom Salve in the component slot, because aether resist is hard to come by and Spellward Powder augment covers that perfectly.
For rings, amulet and medal, use whatever you need.

Augments:
Weapons: Outcast’s Might | Oleron’s Fervor | Essence of Ch’thon
Rings and amulet: Survivor’s Ingenuity | Mogdrogen’s Sanctity | Overseer’s Gaze | Survivor’s Resilience

Resists will vary depending on rolls on your gear, so use whatever armor augments are needed to cap out resists, I won’t even bother here.
For weapons, Outcast’s Might is a little more defensive while Oleron’s Fervor is more damage. Essence of Ch’thon is for resist reduction.
For rings, depending on your need for more offense or defense, use what you need.

Skills:
I’ll just talk about the general direction we want to go with skills.

Skills we absolutely want as high as possible, ultimate rank if possible: Deadly Momentum, Shield Training, Menhir’s Bulwark, Blindside

Skills we generally want at just max rank, nothing more (Having less than max rank for some is also fine): Cadence, Blitz, Overguard, Military Conditioning, Decorated Soldier, Scars of Battle, Blood of Dreeg, Aspect of the Guardian, Curse of Frailty, Field Command, Fighting Form (you either want Fighting Form at max rank, or just 1 point invested).

Skills that scale horribly beyond just a few points, but having 1 in there can provide decent utility (better know as one point wonders): Fighting Spirit, Counter Strike, Scars of Battle, Menhir’s Will, Squad Tactics, Markovian’s Advantage, Zolhan’s Technique.

Devotions:
This is where things get real dicey, as I can guarantee you that most people here are running different versions.
The best I can do here is post my current setup, and add a few other things I think other people are running.

My current setup (no particular order, this is NOT a guide on how to actually get it, respecing probably required):
Lion - Completed
Assassin’s Blade - Completed (Assassin’s Mark bound to Cadence)
Falcon - Completed (Falcon Swoop bound to Curse of Frailty)
Hammer - Completed
Anvil - Completed (Targo’s Hammer bound to Field Command, any toggle will work)
Hawk - Completed
Empty Throne - Completed
Oleron - Completed (Blind Fury bound to Blitz)
Sailor’s Guide - Completed
Panther - Completed
Dire Bear - 5 points (Did not get Maul)
Scales of Ulcama - 1 point (Just the first point for the hp)
Order Crossroads - 1 point (5% hp)

Other constellations people use:
Berserker (Axe only)
Rhowan’s Scepter (Mace only)
Unknown Soldier
Targo the Builder
Chariot of the Dead
Scales of Ulcama
Crane
Dryad

I think that’s it, if I missed anything, let me know.
Here’s a few screenshots of what my stats look like in game. (Tweeked a bit since last video, so some stats may differ slightly, although definitely not enough to see a difference with)

In town with 5 toggles + Blood of Dreeg (Note that we can get 80 stun resist with Overguard, so no real need to go for max stun resist)

Character sheet with 5 toggles + Blood of Dreeg

Defense sheet with 5 toggles + Blood of Dreeg (I capped freeze resist because I was doing crucible runs with no buffs)

Finally, reposting old video for you lazy people out there :stuck_out_tongue:
Witchblade vs Gladiator Crucible waves 140-150 no buffs.

It’s true, because i actually tried different setups.

I mostly agree with jinraQ, but i think, i should tell on what i disagree.

Agreed about Solael-Sect Legguards, but i think there are better alternatives to Empowered Legplates of Valor (which provide only HP, phys resist and DA, in fact - pierce and bleed resistances are useless):
Empowered Hermit’s Legguards - HP, OA, movespeed, damage. Easy to get, and still very good, especially for main campain (due to move speed).
Chausses of Barbaros - OA, damage, phys resist, dodge, proc for damage. For me, it’s better combination of offence and defence, than ELoV.
Arcane Harmone Leggings - resists, damage, DA, 80% skill disruption resist. With those, you will suffer from all those nasty skill-disrupting heroes NO MORE! Dont underestimate that in Crucible!

Handguard of Justice are also OK, but they’re harder to get, and i think, trap resist from GoUM is more worthy, than a bit of extra HP.

I use Mutated Scales instead. For me, HP is more important and useful, than a bit of armour.

I use Mark of Traveller instead. Slow resistance is quite important, and with well-rolled boots, i will be capped with 80%.

I use Haunted Steel for weapon and Battered Shell for shield.
For me, Haunted Steel is MUCH better, than anything else, because that 8% ADCTH really DOES matter, and on-demand, it can be increased by extra 30% ADCTH, which means every hit brings you to full HP.
Battered Shell provides block chance, which is also quite useful, both defensively and offensively. I dont like to use materia slot just for 20% extra resist and 15% damage to just one group of enemies.

This is offensive augment, and i cant say i like it. I use the following augments:
Mogdrogen’s Sanctity - to cap fire/lightning resists. Also gives HP bonus.
Overseer’s Gaze - to cap Aether resist. Also gives some OA.
Survivor’s Resilience - since resists are already capped from previous two.
Maybe, without Justicator’s Signets set, your OA will suck, and Survivor’s Ingenuity will be OK choice (if you’re res capped).

We dont really want to get ultimate rank in Cadence. It scales poorly after 16/16, and is barely worth points (especially without Fighting Form 12/12). Other 3 are mandatory, though, and i’d like to add Blindside there as well (DA reduction).

Actually, i prefer to get 12/12 for Fighting Form, so my Cadence will hit 3 targets (up from 2). In Crucible, when i’m often surrounded by many enemies, hitting an extra target make Cadence deal 1.5 times more damage (not to mention damage bonus, provided by Fighting Form), and i like it.

I dont want Decorated Soldier, Scars of Battle and Field Command at max rank. Too little profit per point, for me. We also want Curse of Frailty at 11/10 rank (if possible - requires Ring of Black Matriarch), because it scales very well to that point, and after it, scaling is quite poor.
Blitz is the best skill to bring to ultimate rank, among all those.

Bonus to Squad Tactics is barely noticeable. It’s more for min-maxing :). Bonus to Deadly Momentum is very good though.

For me, “Tyrant’s” (or much rarer “of Abyss”) mod is just mandatory. If you dont have one on your weapon - then your weapon is junk, replace it.

And you know my constellation setup, i think.
I bound:
Falcon Swoop - to Blitz (2 sec cd, 4 sec cd - not a big deal)
Shield Wall - to Curse of Frailty (for more consistent uptime)
Assassin’s Mark - to Cadence (so it procs as often as it only possible)

Huge thanks!
But why these Solael-Sect legguards? They dun have that good stats I suppose.

Solaels panties
I think thats prety good

Mortal K, isn’t this your current devotion setup?

Added/changed a little thanks to MortalKombat’s suggestions.
