Hello.

First i would like to apologize because my english is so low…I hope you’ll understand.

What i’m making here can be a guide as this build is actualy playable in ultimate. But it’s far from actual best build. And by the way it’s the first time i’m posting here.

I think this build can be improved and i can really appreciate if you make some advice for it! Keep in mind that i only begin to work on it yesterday, and i took a leveled character that’s why grim calc of soldier is actualy an issue (i think i will level it at max for oleron)

-I was tired to see always the same blademaster with same deathmark set…What is hack and slash if everyone do same, we are not playing diablo 3 here (sorry for troll haha)

-I found demonslayer set, and i never saw someone using it, never saw post on it and i think the gun is beautiful!

PROS:

-You’ll don’t see other player with same build:p
-I’m thinking hard but what’s more for PROS…?
-Survival is fine because we can hit and run.
-Correct clear speed on corridor.
-Resistance are corect.

CONS
-Not easy to play
-DPS on boss is still low i think
-The control from blade trap doesn’t work on boss
-Energie : you will use a lot of potion
-And many other think but i don’t want you leave then i stop listing!

Like i said before i worked on a leveled character for another build. That’s why soldier is up to 32 without skill for this level (squad tactics have attack speed and we don’t need). I think i should increase it to 50 and take oleron’s rage, but that’s many point to remove but i’m afraid to do a mistake.

I don’t know if it’s a good idea to level nether edge as we don’t have enough chaos/cold damage on gear and devotion? But as same time it’s one of best way to boost damage on skill tree i think…

GEAR

I think we don’t need attack and cast speed on item cause all skill have cool down. I wonder if some pet bonus on gear can improve my build as they do a good part of damage (blade spirit + nemesis).

GAMEPLAY

I keep cool down on phantasmal blade (devotion twin fang) cause i think it do more damage, allow us to use more skill and better that we can move for survive. This character is not for facetank even if we can take some hit.

-First use blade trap (+ devotion assassin mark), then silver spread (composant on weapon) and phantasmal blade.
-Keep refresh blade spirit (devotion blade of wrath) and pneumatic burst
-Don’t forget to summon your nemesis (relic)
-And while there’s cool down you have about 1-2 second tu run.

I never did video while playing, i will look how to do and maybe i’ll add one soon.

CONCLUSION

This set seems to be a little failing, but i hope you’ll have some idea to improve my build. Ny the way i regret that we don’t have real attack for this gun. The build is only cast and we don’t see the gun shooting. I hope they’ll add real attack for gun with this set, or even other cause actualy there is not a lot…

First of all ty for posting unconventional builds, i think that arpgs are all about experimenting and not just playing the flavour of the moment builds (expecially this one being singleplayer oriented).

I was thinking what to do with this set and (in theory cause i didn’t try it) maybe a cadence blademaster with 2 guns and PB on cooldown could be more effective.

Passive demonslayer bonus are not bad at all : i would go for demonslayer life ender and deathdealer sidearm as weapons and cadence my main attack.
Pb on cd mostly to proc devotions, i might as well try this one day. Obviously that would be a physical /pierce build and devotion should be set accordingly.

Another option could be to just ignore the bonus to skills form this set completely and split with demolitionist or occultist instead.

Nice! I’ve been trying to make this set work on my blademaster as well. I run a dw ranged setup with cadence and do pretty well.

I have dual pistols with cadence attached to Living Shadow proc. With Blade Trap defense debuff I cut through trash pretty well. On bosses I try to get all my shadows up and dual spirit blades going then hit blade barrier and let it eat. On cool down I kite and shoot and it does well enough.

I think once I find more gear with on-attack procs it will really shine. Thanks for posting this. I’m glad someone else has taken to the obscure set.

Passive demonslayer bonus are not bad at all

8% total speed is not the best for my build, only useful for movement.
I tried with no coold down phantasmal sword, but i don’t have enough energie regen, and it’s more difficult to survive…

I’m so agree. But i think it’s a little difficult on grim dawn. Maybe i don’t enough understand game mecanic but in my mind there is not enough flexibility with actual skill. And not enough skill too. I play to path of exile too and it’s really diferent. Don’t want to say POE is better, but at the moment grim dawn seems to be very far from build variety of its concurent! I hope crate will add some skill and work again on the ones which don’t work enough.

Please make me lies and show me that the build i show can be so better, but at the moment i see something too difficult to be really better:(

mmm it seems you got me wrong, let’s see if i can make it clearer :

I would like to try this one with phantasmal blade WITH cooldown but with cadence as main attack and dualwielding guns (the other gun being deathdealer sidearm).

WIth passives from demonslayer set i mean : + 8% OA (good) and 60% pierce dmg.

About POE i did play it for 1 league with lot of succes in terms of currency wealth but was all about magic finding and trading. TOO much trading.

On build variety : when i did play POE 70% of the players where playing poison arrow build or fire totem for magic finding: On GD there are actually lot of possible builds maybe you just need to play more.

I’m not really sure how to evaluate this build. I don’t think Soldier is the best secondary mastery for a build like this, but it seems to work for you so I’ll comment on the other things I see. On the Nightblade side, I would max Pneumatic Burst before touching Shadow Dance. Make sure to put a point in Blade Barrier and Shadow Strike. For the devotions, I would drop Panther, Bat, and Eldritch Crossroads and pick up Jackal to get Wendigo. An alternative is to drop 3 points in Tip the Scales(the proc is kinda bad), Panther, Lion, Eldritch Crossroads and Gallows and pick up Crane, Eel, and Wendigo. This would allow you to keep Bat.

I’m not sure how far you are into the game, but since you posted a Cronley video can you post a video of the last two floors of Steps of Torment? That would give us a much better idea of how well the build works. You only killed 2 heroes in the vid so it is hard to tell at the moment.

I’m not sure about some of the gear choices. Why a shield instead of an off-hand? This is a cooldown based build that would do very well with an off-hand like a Speaker for the Dead or a http://gracefuldusk.appspot.com/items/8284-Skull-of-Gul’Amash. Unless you need the spirit, there are plenty of better options for the pants. If you were looking for OA, Elite Harvest Grips are much better gloves. There are also much better options for your boots as well.

Looks like a very fun build, and more importantly a NEW build. Seeing so many poison/ultos/deathmarked builds gets boring after awile.

It’s about 3 years i’m playing to POE and i don’t think 70% of player are using same build…
But on every game many player are doing like best build explained on forum. But the most important is not what people do, but what they CAN do!

With about 150 active skill, even if some of them are less good there is many build wich are working well on end game. And more about that, there visual aspect are so varied.

If you compare melee skill for exmple, on grim dawn there not a lot, and between blade arc, cadence and shard of beronath on my screen i see about same thing…On POE when you are using fire melee skill you see fire, when you are using ice melee skill you see it too and there is many of each…Same fore bow build. Grim dawn if you take pistol, you have fire strike, cadence (which is visualy poor) and…?

Again one time i’m not here to say POE is better, i like to play both and grim dawn is better for some other point. But for me it could be a good think if we have more skill to use, and a better balance for some existing.

I understand that some nice build are not on forum cause people don’t take the time to share it. But actualy listed build which can run correctly ultimate with BOC and SOT are numerous. And when i play multiplayer i generaly see always same build (i think the most is blademaster with deathmark set).

Thanx for your advice, for devotion i’ll take the time to see it in game.

For the gear you’re probably right for gloves, just i don’t have like that at the moment. I took a shield cause i don’t have spirit (i have 1100+ cunning and a lot phys), this build is an experiment that i did on a character which was made for other one. And maybe another master could be better than soldier.

About shadow strike i can’t with gun. Blade barier i took it maybe i forgot on guide.
I didn’t maxed pneumatic burst cause total speed only good for my movement, and with set i also have total speed. Then i prefer chance to avoid +DA.

SOT i didn’t tried yet, i think it could be a little difficult with my actual gear, but carefuly i can do it. But i have some other character which are so far better and when i go SOT or BOC i generaly take them. If i try this next day i’ll talk about here.

I have some news. I cleaned SoT skiping the nemesis. When i returned to nemesis he killing me during phase 2 cause i was freeze (i forgot to take freeze resist potion on me).
The fight with the boss lasted for about 2-3 minute i think, i was taking high damage and i had to run after each hit.

I tried a new shield of this kind : http://gracefuldusk.appspot.com/items/5646-Vampiric-Bonewall, i had one with life + 13% physical resistance. But i lost lightning and poison resist.

I changed lifegiver for http://gracefuldusk.appspot.com/items/7854-Signet-of-the-Fallen but i lost some life…

I would really like to see someone using this set very well, don’t hesitate to post more advice or vidéo. So with my character i feel i won’t do really best. I will still change a little gear, but after that it will still be a “low” build.
