(1.0.0.5) The Corpse Exploder - DW Pyromancer

The Corpse Exploder - DW Pyromancer

[b]Made Quite a few changes to this build for it to be viable in 1.0.0.7. The biggest changes were I dropped firestrike, Curse of Fraility & Vindictive Flame. I also had to drop Ulzuin’s Torch constellation so I could grab Solemn Watchtower and Eel for much needed DA. I also switched to Oblivion relic for the added skill. Then I switched some gear pieces as they were no longer the best fit.

UPDATE 2:
I was playing a little with the character before making the video and realised I was still taking too much damage from heavy hitters like Fleshhulks. So I made another change to the Devotion set-up. I removed IMP constellation and put the points in
Primordial Crossroad, Finished Lion & Then 3 points in Obelisk Mehnir. Gives me good chunk of added armor and more DA.

This is a Voidfire Pyromancer that utilizes the Procs on Dual Grim Fate Legendary Swords. This is easily one of the most enjoyable procs in the game. You have to make sure you always have sigil down as if not you are quite squishy. This isn’t a true Guide, more just showing one of my More enjoyable builds I use. Won’t go into detail of how to level or what items you should look out for while leveling. Tho the easiest way to level is using Greater Fireblast and Sigil.

Pros

  1. Grim Fate Proc is Awesome
  2. 2 Grim Fate Procs is even more awesome then 1

Cons

  1. There are no Cons, I mean you have 2 Grim Fate procs.
  2. Single Target took a hit with loss of Firestrike

GRIM CALC

Video’s

  1. Port Valbury Outskirts
will try and upload videos of 3 Rogue Like Areas on my days off if I’m not to tired.

Skills

  1. Sigil/Destruction w/ Fissure
  2. BWC High Potency w/ Flame Torrent
  3. Thermite Mines/Helfire Mines w/ Eldritch Fire

Procs From Gear

  1. Grim Fate (50% Chance on Kill)
  2. Grim Fate (50% Chance on Kill)
  3. Battle Cry (10% Chance When Hit)
  4. Volcanic Wyrm’s Breath (10% Chance on Attack)

Are the two weapon Grim Fate procs independent from each other?

You sure love weird builds. I like that :3

Ah, I’ve been wondering how well such a concept would work. Been hesitant to bother with it. What are your thoughts on how the Grim Fates fare lategame, sfbistimg?

Yes.

Oh wow. Now this build looks like fun. Sadly, I have almost none of those item, other than the two Grim Fates. Is that helmet you’re using only made possible via recipe or does the actual helmet drop in the world?

Kudos on coming up with yet another really cool build, sfb.

I enjoy it so far very much, it is probably my new favorite build. I originally tried it as a saboteur but it didn’t fare too well against bosses with no adds. So I then decided to go Pyromancer to take advantage of the +2 to Destruction. I do love me some Sigil tho, so I’m probably biased a bit.

Upping a video now of SoT run where I forgot to turn my buffs back on after being drained of energy. Other then a couple instances where I get stunned and can’t drop Sigil down right away It still wrecks the run.

I would think it drops in the world, but not 100% sure as I traded for it.

EDIT
Ceno corrected me below. I guess it is only a Recipe Drop from the Sentinel. The Clairevoyant’s Hat would also work, just wouldn’t be as bad ass looking and you would lose a proc but gain +1 to all Demo skills.

Pretty sure it’s a recipe drop from the Sentinel only (epic versions of his helms do drop straight from him, however).

Thanks for the answer, Ceno.

I just started a new character, and I’m going to try this build out. I gotta say, that I am actually having fun leveling up a new char using Fireblast (from Searing Ember component). That is a skill I never really bothered with. It’s actually quite effective early on.

Is Greater Fireblast viable in Ultimate? I really like the classic caster spells like this skill, that you cast from your character (not from outer space like some of the skills in the game). I wish GD had more of these.

Anyway, I’m only like level 15 now. Can’t wait until I can dual wield Grim Fates!

I have a sorcerer who uses greater fireblast as main skill. It is definitely the strongest component skill in the game. Its viable in ultimate as long as you pair it with a good aoe skill.

Glad to see I’m not the only one who enjoys the dual fates. I made a dw melee pyro that was allin on chaos damage, but wasn’t too pleased with the mob aoe so I dropped in a grim fate and then another :stuck_out_tongue: Shit is fun to have on swap

Hey, Ceno, or anybody that may know:

I have another question about finding that Covenant of the Three helmet. Can the Sentinel drop it or the blueprint in Elite difficulty? It appears to be a level 75 item, not sure what level The Sentinel is in Elite.

I’m not 100% about that blueprint specifically, but in general level 75s can be dropped in elite.

I’ve just gotten to 78 with this build and am really enjoying it.

I feel a bit squishy if I don’t get sigil down immediately, but the mobility and all the procs are a lot of fun!

Yeah the build was always a little squishy before the newest build release, now you definitely have to get sigil down as quick as possible. I need to rethink the gear as 1833 Defensive Ability no longer seems to be enough.

Made a ton of changes to the build as I couldn’t figure out how to up my DA without changing few pieces of gear and adding some defensive constellations.
The build is now more close to my other Pyromancer who was using Grim Fate and Focus.
Will be upping a new video probably tomorrow.

Dropping Firestrike in a fire/chaos build? What weed you been smokin’?

Anyways, try Beronath to up your DPS a little, you don’t need that aether resistance. Just keep a stash of extra augments in your inventory for valbury

Don’t use the melee attacks anymore, its pure Cooldown Caster
I do miss the added single target damage against bosses, but it is somewhat made up with addition of Procs and Hellfire Mines doing more damage.

Lost alot of damage on firestrike when I changed Gloves and Chest, Didn’t feel worth the high investment of points. Might switch out Enchanted Flint for Beronaths Fury Didn’t even think about that at first. But If I do I will have to re-add Vindictive Flame for the boost to attack speed.

I meant switch out imbued silver

I’d love to see a video of this as a caster.
