Unfortunately for you they are shield/caster hybrids, or just casters, so if you cant stand them be prepared to go with some underdog build like DW or 2H or even S&B.

Thanks for the guide! I have just played this game for less than a month and happened to stumble upon your guide. When I started playing, it’s kind of my habit not to look at any guides on the internet hoping that I can understand the game’s mechanic well enough. I decided to create a BM with almost full cunning. Even though I have a little bit phys, it feels like it doesnt contribute much to my survivability. After reaching lv 85, I decided to look at people’s guide and started questioning my build. You mentioned that with your 0 phys/spirit build, you used to be able to face tank mad queen in patch 1.0.0.7. I do realise that my char doesnt have full legendary set but at least I am maxed out on every resistance. But, my char cant even face tank the warden, let alone tanking mad queen. I have to rely on shadow strike and blade spirit to kill warden. Pretty much hit and run kind of style. Is there something i did wrong or playing BM really relies on items?

Hm, I really didn’t had any issues in facetanking any boss/nemesis in 1.0.0.7.
But I cant help you much If you dont share pic and grim calc of your build.
I can only gues what are your problems and common ones are to low DPS, to low ADCTH, or to low DA.
To check DPS take your BM on dummy if you need more than 45-50 sec your DPS is way to low. Check also resistance reduction ammount that you have.
ADCTH you need at least 5-8%
DA at least 2 k (2.2k is ideal) and you should be ok, in 1.0.0.7 that is

I’m still fairly new to this game, and have been really enjoying following this guide to level up a blade master! However, I’m nervous reading through all of the changes in the latest patch (1.0.0.8). I’m currently level 52, and just entered elite, so still have a long ways to go. My biggest question, however, is about the changes to attack damage converted to health. With that removed from unknown soldier, where are you guys getting it? Is it worth trying to head to ghoul and revenant? Or do you pick it up on gear or components instead?

I have it on pants (solaels pants used on defensive setup) and medal for total of 9% ADCTH. You can get it on ring also or use some ADCTH weapon component. Ofc you can chose to change devo setup as well its up to you

I did a quick Cronley/Fabius run and it felt pretty good.

Verdict is if you want to play BM make something like this:
Pierce and phys dmg are pretty much dead and some small cosmetic boost wont change much about it.
SS setups with strong dot are vanilla meta and noting can compare with them.
There was a time when spelbreakers were BMs little brothers, now roles are changed
But that’s basically a spellbreaker:mad:
Also, what about Silverbolt BM, is it dead too cause I think it should still be one of the better BM builds out there? I’m leveling a BM granted i am not playing the latest patch still I’d prefer to play the updated version
Well, some time ago SBs were BMs wannabe and like I said roles have changed
Silverbolt BM is still top notch 2h ranged build tho its bit weaker than it used to be. Not much to update, maybe ring or pants for better ADCTH.
Problem with SB is the low HP pool, 7k-8k for a melee char is tricky.
But maybe maiven balance that 
Its not so hard to push SB health pool to 10k, With maxed maiven its more that enough to feel safe on HC.
