[1.0.0.6.H1] Raven Master

Looking to make useful builds that put the Raven pet & buff (elemental) to good use.
Of course Raven still needs some upgrades.

Raven Conjurer Lightning :

Raven Warlock Cold Lightning : http://grimcalc.com/build/1006-fzReCX (12 points left)

Raven Warlock Fire Aether : http://grimcalc.com/build/1006-NSpvtm (0 points)

Which one works best and what would you change to them ?
All suggestions are welcomed.

Probably the Raven Conjurer.

I tried making a Pyromancer with Raven+Quick Jacks some time ago. I gave up on it until recently.

The Raven’s AI seems to have improved in the last few updates. It now shoots 4-5 projectiles instead of 1 at high levels. But here’s the thing. When the Raven is set to aggressive it will actually fly in and try to shotgun enemies. In other words all 4 projectiles will hit at once making his attack more powerful.

I’m thinking I may finish off my hybrid once I find a few more items of the light defenders set.

As for your other question in the other thread. Storm Spirit does increase the Raven’s damage output but it will not be shown in the GUI. The same thing occurs when you activate any aura such as flame touched. If you increase pet damage you will see the increase applied in the GUI. This is one of the reason players want more pet stats displayed in the other tab.

Can you post your build ?

Thank you for your thoughts.
Moreover now the Raven moves away if it has obstacles in front of him.

It was made some time ago. I dropped it at level 73 and am still using Stormhound (not recommended). But I may just get him to level 75 to whack on a few legendary’s I’ve been itching to try out.

Going conjurer is recommended though as a tonne of the items I am currently using all give bonuses to Shaman. It’s just easier to gear for.

I agree that the AI on the Raven seems a lot better. It looks like it’s pathing has certainly been improved. I may make a conjurer hybrid now that castable aether-lightning is a thing.

Let’s calculate some bonuses.

For Demolitionist + Occultist:
+100% flame touched + 126% Ulzuin + 108% storm spirit = 334% bonus
Max skills is :185% + 225% + 182% = 595% bonus.

For Shaman + Occultist:
33% chance of +350% Lightning (stormcaller skill, it means 100% chance of +117%) + 108% storm spirit = 225% (+emboldening roar gives +54% to all more)
Max skills is: 33% chance of +570% (100% chance of +190%) + 182% = 372% (emboldening could give another +100%)

Comparing these two the Demo+Occu looks more powerful with more passive buffs and easier to keep buffs.

Conjurer has extra 35% to (max 70% critical damage)

It looks good on paper but for hybrids you need to look at stacking +% pet damage or your pet will be just there for decoration. With Pyromancer’s the only damage increase your pet will get is from Flame Touched.

I’m not saying going Pyro is a bad idea. I’m just saying it’s easier to gear for a Conjurer as the end game items tend to be designed for Shaman+Occultist with a few exceptions here and there.

Once I reach level 75 I’m obviously going to be using this as it provides bonuses for both pets and stun jacks

If you’re not adding a big multiplier for CoF’s resist reduction then you’re not giving the Occultist a fair shake.

Would you mind sharing your planned skill points allocation? I tried a Quick Jack elementalist earlier but didn’t really like it. Your idea of a hybrid Elementalist summoner looks interesting!
