[1.0.0.9]After Night’s Embrace get Nerf
[1.0.0.8]16 Feb. 2017 : New Performance with Alkamos’ Rings Build & Update
[1.0.0.6hotfix2]15 Oct. 2016 : Solo Crucible Gladiator Approve! Detail at Video section below
[1.0.0.9]After slightly nerf
Due to nerf at perma-freeze combo. Everything’s the same except change the skill from OFF to Nullification instead. Some boss fight like mad queen needs more careful and quick respond to her auras. [Cold conversion from the amulet is too good to ignore LOL]
New 1.0.0.8 Video performance

Introduction
Spellbreaker DW melee with gear base build for Deathmarked set. Dealing primary cold dmg and piercing as secondary. Using very strong signature of Nightblade skill like Shadow strike and Amarasta’s Blade Burst.
The reason that I don’t play piercing as primary because he’s still lose blademaster and won’t make any usage of arcanist tree. So I decide to do my best in cold dmg and it works well. I’m looking forward for your suggestion to improve the build or fix something up.
Char Sheet Explaination
- darker area is stats when procs
This is the finalize of my best in shot gear I can afford.
Including MIs pants, boots, Badge of Mastery(+5 Shadow Strike), Relic(+1 lethal assault, +1 night’s chill) and most of my gears are high rolls and get needed smith’s buff.
The main problems in spellbreaker who use full Deathmarked set and Alkamos’ Rings are
- low max HP due to the set don’t give a fuck on it.
- low resistance support skills&auras (have only Pneumatic burst)
Mostly He has low Aether, Chaos, Vitality, Bleeding and Acid&Poison resistance.
Gear
Head: Deathmarked Hood + Leathery Hide // Craftable
Chest: Deathmarked Jacket + Sanctified Bone
Pants: Stonehide Solael-Sect Legguards of Attack + Scaled Hide // Monster Infrequent Drop-Lotto
Boots: Purging Exalted Treads of Nature’s Bounty + Mark of Mogdrogen // Craftable-Lotto
Gloves: Icekorn Talon + Unholy Inscription
Shoulders: Deathmarked Shoulderguard + Scaled Hide
Weapon: Deathmarked Claw + Oleron’s Blood + [Outcast’s Frostbite]
Off-handed: Deathmarked Decapitator + Coldstone + [Outcast’s Frostbite]
Amulet: Night’s Embrace + Aether Soul + [Survivor’s Ingenuity]
Ring1: Alkamos’ Touch of Anguish + Ectoplasm + [Survivor’s Ingenuity] // Boss Infrequent Drop
Ring2: Alkamos’ Touch of Dread + Ectoplasm + [Survivor’s Ingenuity] // Boss Infrequent Drop
Belt: Spellbreaker Waistguard + Antivenom Salve // Craftable
Medal: Badge of Mastery + Aether Soul // Craftable-Lotto
Relic: Belgothian’s Carnage // Nothing to say with CD reduction procs. Very awesome even though it get nerfed. // Craftable
For my build, I’d state Pants and Boots as a freely change gear. And moreover in gear suggestion are
- Amulet : Peerless Eyes of Beronath or Avatar of Mercy
- Belt: Bladebreaker Sash // Fix Bleeding resistance
- Gloves : Elite Harvest Grips // can purchase from homestead and thanks to Tomodak’s Advice
- Pants : Empowered Swampdweller’s Legguards or Solael-Sect Legguards with Stonehide prefix and any suffix // you can farm green pants by killing ton of Guardian of Solael. I hope you all good luck.
- Boots : Golemborn Greeves, Earthshatter Treads, Windshear Greaves, Venomspine Greaves, or Exalted Treads/Sabaton with good prefix&suffix to adjust your resistance or HP// you can craft green boots at any smith at cost of 2 scraps. Rolls it like a lotto and collect only good greens, throw yellows and trash greens away.
- Rings : Lifegiver Signet, Viloth’s Ring or Gollus Ring with good prefix&suffix
- Weapon 1(instead of Depapitator): Crecent Moon or Loxmere’s Frostblade with good prefix&suffix
- Medal : Mark of Dark Dreams, Undying Oath, Mark of Divinity, Mark of Fierce Resolve, Black Star of Deceit, Empowered Apothecary’s Sign, Empowered Bloodreaper’s Mark or Ikrix Scale with good prefix&suffix
- Relic : Nemesis
Talk about resistance
Bleeding : Lowest needed resistance as it is DoT dmg. I can get health from ADCtH easily.(Or cure by using “Nullification” skill) Anyway 50%+ is safety enough.
Acid&Poison : Most needed and should 70%+ because you’ll encounter them frequently and they’re lethal. Acid also flat dmg and you’ll get hurt when standing in an acid pool from insects.
Vitality and Aether > Chaos : You’ll encounter them more frequently than chaos. Anyway they should be above 50%.
*** Disable Time Reduction is also important factor in surviving through endgame(Stun>Freeze>Entrap>Petrify>Skill Disruption>Slow). Having a good % of them can help a lot in facing some mobs and bosses.
*** Defensive stats like %dodge, %deflect, Physical res. are helpful through hard time. Also Fumble&Impaired Aim debuff to enemies are helping a lot.
NOTE
- All gear augments are +7% Aether res, +7% Chaos res. except one +7% Vitality res, +10% acid & poison res.
- You can change “Coldstone” from a weapon into Imbued Silver or Purified Salt to fix further Chaos or Aether resistance.
- You can change Rings and Amulet Augment to help fixing resistance and some HP too.
- If you don’t use Viper constellation, you may change one of weapon augment into “Essence of Ch’thon” to reduce enemies’ resistance
- Keep effective OA about 2400-2500 (or 2800+ to obviously see different), DA about 1800+(or 2200+ to obviously see different).
Suggestion about ABB and Shard of Beronath [ul]
[li] Not Different much, Beronath+ABB can make higher dps but trade off with harder to play because of you need to use them both[/li]
[li] ABB with full Lethal assault alone is better than going pure Beronath because it give a huge flat dmg and will be apply to %weapon dmg in skills later.[/li]
[/ul]
These are my build set up to match my gear. You may change some to fit yours.
Grimcal with no bonus : https://grimcalc.com/build/1008-Unjtqx
Grimcal with all bonus : https://grimcalc.com/build/1008-b8d1tR
With my BiS gears are +5 Shadow Strike, +1 Lethal Assault, +1 Night’s Chill = I’ve more 7 points than normal. // cut Lethal Assault because I maxed it anyway is still 6 points lead.
You may not allocate points in “Arcane Will”, “Mental Alacrity”, “Merciless Repertoire”, Drop “Inner focus” or “Circle of Slaughter” to 10/12.
Skill Explanation [ul]
[li]Dual Wield : put 1 in Most of them to get benefit from Nightblade Bonus and some WPS eventhough they’re not major part of our dmg.[/li]
[li]ABB : 1 point for triggering only Lethal Assault, Max Lethal assault because it boost our dmg significantly into our atk. (Flat dmg from it will be worth a lot when combine with %weapon dmg as it’s in Shadow strike) [/li]
[li]Ring of Steel : 1 for RoS to triggering CoS, 1 in RoF for applying freeze. Max CoS because it give fumble to mobs. Reduce the chance you’ll be hit by melee even bosses can be affect. No matter they can be freeze or not. Very Good Skill(get nerf from 50% fumble to 35% is still very good). [/li]
[li]Shadow Strike : Max it because it give a huge %weapon dmg in both and it’s our main dmg skills. NJE 12/12 for minimize CD. NF 12/12 for getting full potential(can goes ultimate lv too)[/li]
[li]Pneumatic Burst : 12/12 all entire line. To give huge flat HP, tons of melee and range Dodge(totally with full DM set is 20%melee+50%range dodge), Elemental Awakening for fix our Elemental res.[/li]
[li]Veil of Shadow : 1 point of wonder, 10/10 Night’s Chill is at maximum -X% res. at an effective investment.[/li]
[li]Blade Barrier : 1 point of wonder. 2nd Panic button[/li]
[li]Phantasmal Armor : 12/12 because the rings give us and it has good bonus too. Reduce freezing time is very good to fight anyone who can freeze you w/o “Sailor’s Guide” constellation.[/li]
[li]Anatomy of Murder : 1 point of wonder.[/li]
[li]Merciless Repertoire : 1 point of wonder.[/li]
[li]Mirror of Ereoctes : 1st Panic button[/li]
[li]Maiven’s Sphere of Protection : 1 of the best auras in game, Max it. Conversion is to anyone who has low Disable Time Reduction. So max it if you don’t wear Avatar of Mercy.[/li]
[li]OFF : 1 point of wonder. 2nd priority of freezing from RoS to make a perma-freeze combo with Night’s Embrace Amulet skill. If you don’t have bonus in it, don’t invest too many points in. RoS is a lot better. [/li]
[li]Starpact : there’s only small change from lv 11-12, You’d get full benefit of Cooldown reduction from lv11. That’s all. [/li]
[li]Inner Focus : to boost more OA and some stats.[/li]
[li]Arcane Will : 1 point of wonder.[/li]
[li]Mental Alacrity : 1 point of wonder.[/li]
[/ul]
Additional
- Blade Spirit : 1 point of wonder to get additional extra dmg
- IEE : I don’t invest in them because I have low flat energy regen and don’t have any bonus on them. I’ve enough cold conversion and all offensive I need. *** If I have some more points I’ll invest in Elemental Awakening to increase crit dmg.
- Nullification : 1 point of wonder, Sometime use skill. I don’t have more room for an active skill anymore. So I just skipped it and get perma-freeze from OFF instead
Constellation Explanation[ul]
[li]Wolverine instead of Harpy : To get exactly 13 purple with least investment. Sacrifice small bonus to getting good one and saving points to other important investment.[/li]
[li]Turtle and Behemoth : Work very well and perfect combination to any build. They’re also very good as a defensive procs for low HP build. Turtle can hold time enough to make you press panic button in time. Behemoth help in most situation and also have high HP regen to slow down some DoT too.[/li]
[li]Ghoul : To get 4% ADCtH at the lowest cost. The proc is working 2nd priority to turtle and behemoth(when they’re on CD). It help us can sustain much longer and turn the tide of battle when you’re nearly died. Anyway you can skip the proc and invest in some 1 point of wonder constellation instead.[/li]
[li]Rowan’s Crown : To get the proc. It reduce enemies’ resistance = we can hit harder.[/li]
[/ul]
Other Suggestion for Constellation are
- Vulture
- Chariot of the Dead
- Dryad Blessing
- Ulo the Keeper of the Waters
- Revenant
- Harpy
- Sailor’s Guide
- Targo the Builder
- Crane
- Falcon
Devotion Binding
- Turtle, Behemoth, Ghoul procs on Auras. (We’ve 4 auras, so select 3 of them)
- Leviathan proc on Shadow Strike. (To get highest chance)
- Rowan’s Crown proc on Oleron’s Might or Ring of Steel (To get highest chance)
My skill shortcuts
1 : Icechill // To make perma-freeze combo (from “Night’s Embrace” Amulet)
2 : Olexra’s Flash Freeze
3 : Ring of Steel
4 : Oleron’s Might // Major Dmg (from “Oleron’s Blood” Component)
5 : Mirror of Ereoctes
6 : Blade Barrier
scroll up (9): Reaper’s Mark
scroll down (0): Pneumatic Burst
RMB : Amarasta’s Blade Burst // Essential procs
LMB : Shadow Strike!!! // Major Dmg
*2nd skill bar is for all auras
***Newbie Advice : Default Shortcut for HP Potion = “R”, Energy Potion = “E”
I usually spamming 2&3&4, scrolling up-down and L-R click. 1 before I encounter bosses. 5&6 in bad situations.
Auras
- Maiven’s Sphere of Protection
- Veil of Shadow
- Star Pact
- Chill Aura (from “Coldstone” component)
Reducing Enemies’ Stats [ul]
[li] 30 Reduced target’s elemental resistances from “Elemental Storm” [Devotion][/li]
[li] 20% Reduced target’s Elemental Resistance from “Viper”[Devotion][/li]
[li] 20% Reduced target’s Damage from “Oleron’s Might” [Component][/li]
[li] -30% cold, pierce, acid&poison resistance from “Night’s Chill”[/li]
[li] -82 OA and -16% total speed from “Veil of Shadow”[/li]
[li] -15% cold, -10% pierce resistance from “Reaper’s Mark” [Set Bonus][/li]
[li] -50% Reduced Freeze Duration from “Icechill” [Night’s Embrace] // make bosses able to freeze (^0^)/ [/li]
[/ul]

About Solo Crucible Gladiator at 100-150
I failed 2 times before record this video by jumping on the mobs and get wreck very fast. I still don’t recognize how I died.
And I would like to share about preparation for crucible for you guys. It’s not that easy as the video present.
First of all, I recommend playing on gladiator in multiplayer because it’s a lot easier and you can share spending attribute points.
I learned a lot from playing multiplayer. It’s always good for trading or sharing to the others.
1. You should know your enemies enough, know what can kill you and make you died.
This is the most important key in playing this game for every mode, especially crucible. You might encounter all creatures in this game and most bosses&nemesis.
You may not need to know every creature, but at least you should know what can kill you.
These are example of my hated enemies. I always want to kill them as fast as I can[ul]
[li] The insectoids : There’re 2 kind of 6 leg ground insects - 1 who shot acid, and 1 who is melee. That melee insect is very dangerous, only few of them strike at the same time can burst you down immediately[/li]
[li] Rock Golem : The most dangerous part is when they throw magma ball to your head. That’s pretty hurt, so make a good dodge or kill them first. // MBA pls recruit them to your team and make them to star basketball players.[/li]
[li] Those giant monster who wield some big mace : They are not that scary due to their slow strike, but if you get one strike thats might a huge pain. Some kiting is ok if you didn’t stuck in a group of monster.[/li]
[li] Skeletal Golem, Some spiders and caveman hunters : They can combo entrapt you then make you died by other source and can disrupt shadow strike.[/li]
[li] Some exploding when they died : Like the hidden path red dogs, fire undead, Ch’thonian Harbinger. When you kill them you may get hurt. So be careful.[/li]
[li] Some Star Ch’thonian : Those who has Skill Disruption is the counterpart for every spellbreaker. If you realize you’re disrupted you should retreat quickly.[/li]
[/ul]
These are bosses you should know [ul]
[li] Any resurrection or transform boss : If you kill them last, the next wave will come. So if you don’t want to kill the new form of them again in the next wave just kill them first then kill the next form again before kill all monsters in the wave.[/li]
[li] Mad Queen, Rashalga : Can be spawn at 147th wave only - She’s seem easy for this build because I can freeze her. She hits hard and the most dangerous is when she get pink aura she will shot fatal stings infront of her.[/li]
[li] Anastasia : Fortunately this build has many bonus in killing human. I use my sense and guess when she will burst me down then run away from her. (But recommend you to know what she can do and what dangerous)[/li]
[li] Moosiluake(Undead nemesis) : EZ for every range, but so annoying for melee. Without green blessing from Ulo I might have a hard time killed him. The problem is ice totem but I can’t destroy them all quickly. So get the blessing then burst him down.[/li]
[li] Zantarin(Order Vigil’s nemesis) : EZ for every range, but can quickly burst melee char to death. Careful on approaching him. Advice is to attack and stay in his rear side. If he’s getting RNG to using a bursty shotgun of vitality/life reduction shots to you. You’ll probably died at no matter how durable you are.[/li]
[li] Iron Maiden&Fabius : I’d say these are mage-killer. They have very fast approching and stun skills. Hit very hard. For melee this is fair play and don’t have so much problems. Just don’t get burst down too quick to use skills or drink potion.[/li]
[/ul]
2. The Set up [ul]
[li] Buy all four blessing [LIST][/li]
[li] Green(Ulo) : Give you disable resistance like reduce stun, freeze, entrapment, petrify, slow to you. it can make you survive in most situation when you face strong enemies. [+33% Resistance to all Crowd Control Effects, +50% Reduction in duration of Damage-Over-Time effects.][/li]
[li] Yellow(Empyrion) : Give you all defensive stuff you might need. [+60% Health][/li]
[li] Blue(Amatok) : Give you all offensive stuff you might need. The faster you kill, the safer you are. [+All Damage Modified by 30%, +5% Offensive Ability][/li]
[li] Pink(Ulzuin) : Give you spamming skill power. [+100% Energy Regeneration, +5% Skill Cooldown Reduction, -20% skill energy cost.][/li]
[/ul]
[li] Build Vanguard Banner - The purpose is the same as blessing Amatok. To clear as fast as I can. [ul][/li]
[li] Grant nearby players bonus Damage, Offensive Ability and Crit Damage.[/li]
[li] Upgrade 1 : periodically cast an area Frenzy Buff[/li]
[li] Upgrade 2 : the range and effectiveness of the Aura and Frenzy are increased.[/li]
[/ul]
[/LIST]
Leveling Advice
-
If you have Crucible DLC, Play it with advice from This guide.
-
Normal/Veteran : You can use single mastery to complete it.
Mine is using pure arcanist with TSS+PRM (I just want to try them for first time). Have only 3 death. Mostly from reckless play.
If playing pure Nightblade I’d recommend playing range with PB, Blade Trap etc or combine with low arcanist mastery. -
Elite : Stay on Elite until you’re satisfy or above lv75. Try everything you don’t know as a caster here. It’s fun and it’s so much different from after 75 that we went through this melee bursty build. Getting other feeling and experience here
-
Ultimate : Caster and range is recommend below lv75 or above if don’t have full gear. Going melee with unprepare and half-baked gear would make the game so damn hard.
