Thanks! I’ll definitely take this into consideration. 26/16 SS seems to be the sweet spot.
26/16 Shadow Strike is a must on every Shadow Strike build; the final point is a huge increase in damage

I’m wondering why not 2 Crescent moon as weapon ?
Oklaine’s Lantern devotion. Need to wear dagger. The bonus from the devotion is very huge.
Also Loxmere’s blade is very strong cold dagger. Anyway it’s seems the build doesn’t lack of skill points anymore.
So using 1 dagger for huge devotion bonus and get massive cold stat is better.
Any chance to build devotions through Turtle (bound to Veil of Shadow) and Tsunami?
Any tips on skillpoint allocation during leveling?
Get OFF in arcanist to max, (start with arcanist if you can) get a point in ABB and go for LA, say 5-6 points, get mirror in arcanist. The rest doesnt really matter until lvl 50 and up. Of course, work towards getting shadow strike at least one point, Ring of Steel (1 point) etc. They are all good for leveling even if they are just one point…
Turtle is not an optimal investment for this setup, or any generally. While its base nodes are decent at best, the skill is extremely underwhelming, as 2700 damage is very unimpressive in actual combat, especially factoring in the relatively long recharge time of 30 seconds. I believe Ceno also addressed this in an earlier post (in response to an argument saying that Turtle is good because it effectively acted as a 25% hp heal):
As for Tsunami, its nodes give damage that are irrelevant in the later stages of completion for this build. That combined with the trouble of re-arranging devotions to fit in Tsunami (which will no doubt end up being inferior to the original) make the constellation not worth taking.
it’s not about how much health the Turtle gives, it’s when does it give that health. It literally prevents death, most of the time. So it more about going from 100 to Turtle instead of going from 100 to 0. While it is irrelevant if you don’t mind dying, it is relevant if you want to avoid dying in cluster*uck messes. Then again, if you don’t mind dying, nothing is really relevant except for damage and looking good
2700 shield from turtle shell is very high for flat HP sustain though.
In spellbreaker, I use it as a prevent death circuit breaker and buy some more time to press Mirror and Blade Barrier in bad situation.
Is it worth getting turtle? I’d say it’s 1st priority for defensive setup on spellbreaker anyway. At least it buy your time to press any panic button and jump off bad situation.
Great build. I’m having a blast farming with it.
Uploaded video of the build in action. More to come!
will you make it look less like a mexican migrant in the future?
edit: on a more serious note: is ~10% more damage over other builds really worth ~30% less resistances? Like, I m ade a 4 piece DM set that has ~2850 offense and ~2200 defense that crits for ~300K on SS, has 1300 armor etc. When it does not crit damage is not good, neither is for this build, when it crits, most things (98% of things) insta-gib. I am perfectly fine with that, I never noticed lack of damage, just one SS crit is needed. Is that not so in this build too? On the other hand, for AoE, you lack a lot. I mean, most of the game is not mad queen.
PS. To avoid any misunderstanding - After I made this “type” of build, everything else seems underwhelming by far. Like, a light year away. They need to either boost other potential builds not made with shadows strike, or knock this one the ground. I hope this does not get knocked into to ground but other classes get more powerful skills. It doesn’t matter of they can be combined with nightblade, there isnt enough points to make them both shine.
This is almost assuredly going to be annihilated. Good riddance, too.
When a build can negate 100% of the challenge of content and all mechanical difficulty present in a game, that is not a standard to aspire other builds to perform to, it’s merely imbalance that should be zealously squashed.
It’s always an rng game with crits. However, this build has pretty favorable odds considering it crits fairly consistently with Shadow Strike because of the high effective OA. Combined with its low cooldown and another source of burst from Oleron’s Might, it results in satisfying critical strike chance as well as damage. Of course, relatively speaking, it seems to not do very much damage without crits, but crits are hugely helpful to this build, or all Shadow Strike builds in fact, and so it is very unfair to not count them for the purpose of damage. Additionally, it isn’t just Shadow Strike and Oleron’s Might that makes this build do a ridiculous amount of damage. While those definitely help, what makes the build truly (overly)powerful is having those alongside fantastic Frostburn ticks, which is a very good source of damage in and of itself.
This general rule should be consistent throughout all well-built Shadow Strike Breakers, regardless of whether you are using 1 or 4 piece Deathmarked.
As for the damage/resistance trade off, I believe it is just a limitation of your gear in not capping resistances (remember to switch to Empty Throne instead of using Owl if you are having trouble). But for the AoE, however, I believe you are quite mistaken as the AoE capabilities are not lacking whatsoever. Blizzard bound to Blade Spirit combined with Leviathan, Nightfall and the occasional Ring of Steel results in great AoE if played properly.
To mke it clear: I have 21 LA and 26 SS with my 4 piece DM. I do have 12/12 shadow dance *makes 20%/20$ evasion) and i Have 9750ish life. Allres maxxed out, even Bleeding. Yea This thing is so powerfull and untouchable and super duper crazy good, but ehn it just dies in wrong mob that managed to crit. I am just saying that it’s nothing that should be nerfed, but something that should be a point of reference for more durable builds that would have a little bit less damage of course. While I am perfectly happy that I can fight nemesis with my 2H commando, lasting up to a minute against Mossy (and he can barley hurt me) I will now prefer to just kill him in under 10 seconds, with COLD build. Sounds wrong, plays wrong etc.
PS. My resists are all capped and overlapped. Thats the first thing I do with my char (any) since normal. If it’s not at least 50%, build is not good. For elite, 80% is minimal.
Unfortunately, Shadow Strike, and consequently the class combination, are guaranteed to be nerfed. If other builds are brought to the power level of SS Breakers in this patch, then the game would be extremely devoid of challenge.
yea, after 30000 hours needed to collect the gear to get SS and those builds to that level…Or cheat, like I did, which I did because grinding for specific gear for any of spell breakers builds is lifelong process…on average
It’s just my opinion anyways. To me it’s like, Supercars should be brought down to level of Toyota corolla  Point being: not everyone can have these builds, few can actually.
Except it’s not all that hard to get 4 pieces of the Deathmarked set and a Crescent Moon. You could fairly easily do this build on all legendaries and still be ridiculously overpowered.
well, you want to nerf all spellbrekers because they be op? Ok, look at this one here:
…op as hell no doubt…I would argue that most people who play GD and don’t read forums will make even worse builds.
And no, 4 deathmarked is not easy to find. For me at least. I’ve been playing this game for almost 8 months now and I only found the head and recipe for it. I did find 2 crescent moons and needed spellbreaker belt and I found the relic some 2 months ago I think. Of course, pants I did farm easy since they do drop in one for or the other. That’s about it. Everything else I made in GDStash after I gave up on endless SoT and BoC farming. It was fun for a month and then it wasn’t…
