[1.0.2.0.]HC Human Torch Auramancer Tactician

UPDATE: As off 1.0.3.0 build is in the toilet - can’t attach devotions to auras , rings received insane cooldown on procs - i mean if you really really want to make it work , you could propably make a gimped version but i dont feel like spending time on salvaging it.

This build is still work in progress but i have decided to share it anyway.

Video proof of concept with my current gear showcased at the end :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vp9UU-Nvzw
and LOG kill to showcase bigger hitbox :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8MsPdbE8Mo

NEW Video KubaCabra Beast Nemesis Kill : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcRejFVdPVY&t=48s

Grimtools for Core of the build : http://www.grimtools.com/calc/xZyD5rnV
(for some reason if you have 2x seal of blades grimtools doesn’t allow you to attach 2 separate devotion procs to those - aether fire is second seal of blades)
How this works :
Ashes of Malmouth introduced 3 items and 1 component with damaging auras that allow you to attach devotions to those auras.
Horns of Ekket’Zul - http://www.grimtools.com/db/items/8114
Tainted Ruby of Gar’dal - http://www.grimtools.com/db/items/7854
Rune Armor of Ignafar - http://www.grimtools.com/db/items/8372
Seal of Blades - http://www.grimtools.com/db/items/8898

This gives you 5 devotion procs that can trigger just by getting close to mobs. 3 Auras deal fire dmg and fire element has the best devotions for that because 3 of them have no cooldown. Blitz around killing trash just by walking throu mobs.

If you check the Warden run video you can see my current gear at the end - there is a lot of space for improvement. Chest is not mythical, rings are not mythical and there are at least 2 items i would like to get and test:
Cinderplate Girdle - http://www.grimtools.com/db/items/7987
Cindertouch - http://www.grimtools.com/db/items/8045

For stats i went full physique but there is a chance i will put in some spirit if i find high dmg scepter.

I have managed to kill Madqueen but it takes long time and requires you to kite around pillar when she turns red otherwise she machine guns you with phantasmal blades, it looks hillarious.

Pros :
Looks cool
Lazy
Tanky
Can always respec into retaliation tank
Cons:
Not epilepsy viable
Lazy
Can cause eye cancer
Requires specific gear

Hope some1 will enjoy this as much as i do , props to Crate for introducing those amazing items and making this build possible.

Post your own auramancer build ,question or improvements. Have fun.

It looks fun. The link to your videos are incorrect though.

Would be nice if the video links are the correct ones and not the “edit video” links.

For those having issues viewing the videos.

Nice RF build, i would definitely try this in the next league as a starter.

Zerker or Chieftain you say?

Jokes aside this actually looks amazing but Whirling Blades will definitely be nerfed to oblivion.

Links should be correct now - sry for that. I realise that if it was POE reddit i would be dead by now

I saw this build a few hours after you posted it, started leveling a new char already haha. I’m super keen to see how your build develops! Keep us updated!!

I’m glad you like it. Today i plan to finish the story on Ultimate and maybe find some upgrades. I definitly want to try the new Nemesis bosses aswell and wil try to record the kills.

Quick Update : posted Kubacabra Beast Nemesis kill video - its not the fastest but its pretty safe and currently i have killed him 4 times - times varried 1:30-3:00 depending on spawn spot - reign of ice and fire isn’t that good if you run uphill. For the purpose of farming him i added 1 point to StormBox and attached meteor shower to it as i didn’t want to risk blitzing just to trigger the proc. Hopefully next update i will have some gear upgrades to show off and the kill time will improve.

Looks awesome! Keep up the good work!

Hey, I’m building a similar build, but with Nightblade instead of Soldier for Night’s Chill. I’m using a couple of different items, but I have a couple of questions:

How do you get to 17K health? I get that Soldier offers more health and you’re wearing health boosting items, but it’s a difference of about 10K.

Very interesting build! I love the concept. I am now thinking of something along the lines of converting the fire from this build to cold and then using Nightblade instead of Soldier for Night’s Chill.

Anyone here know if the damage bonus from Lethal Assault also apply to the damage done by these auras?

Lethal Assault is a buff and it works with every cold dmg you do including Night’s Chill. My first version of the build was Infiltrator but it was too squishy for me. The other problem with converting the dmg to cold is that Fire constelations have better procs in my opinion. You can replace Eldritch Fire with Rumor but other then that cold devotions are inferior in my opinion. If you use fire ones and just convert the dmg then you loose all the +fire dmg bonuses from those constelations (if it works how i think it works).

Thanks. Lethal Assault working with the auras is great and might be one reason to try out Infiltrator but yeah it looks very squishy. Looks like this kind of build will really need the shield and hp skills of Soldier to be able to take good hits.

Currently running the infiltrator version based on an (incomplete) mageslayer set and it is indeed squishy. My work arounds for the problems highlighted were to take blade barrier to 12 and then have kite and 3 second of invincible burn cycles on hard targets. I also focused more on elemental damage nodes and less on cold devotion procs although I should probably revisit that thinking. The final problem not mentioned is that of OA. Your options to get it suck with a Nightblade. I have less than ideal solutions there.

I am also currently debating trying a version that runs 2 Warpfires and turning all my cold into fire. Still collecting though.

As for the Cindertouch in your initial post, my suggestion is to forget about it. That fire to lightning conversion on it is not going to do you any favors, even if the proc is pretty. You are probably better off with something else like the mythical gauntlets of ignaffar.

On a related gearing note, I highly recommend mythical wyrmscale footguards for the +2 to censure and that 10K damage shield on a relatively short cooldown absorbs a lot of punishment.

You’re correct the dmg conversion will certainly be a dps loss - i just overlooked it initialy. I will remove it when i’ll make gearing update. As for the boots i’m currently using Mythical Emberstone Threads as they give more % fire dmg and resists i need.
Also i’ve just found Mythical Finger of Gal’dalvur and i’m debating changing stats to get enough spirit to use it or swapping some gear for additional spirit.
BIS weapon will propably be either Mythical Finger of Gal’dalvur or Rageflame Spellblade.
Currently i’m heavily farming treasure troves for recipes. Hopefully i will have some gear updates in 1-2 days.

Does Markovian’s Defense (Overguard modifier) effect the aura damage?
It’s a stupid question because it says “Total Damage Modified”, but maybe its worth giving a shot.

Yes it does. Only thing it doesn’t affect is retalliation.

I just died at 52 with my char and looking to try something new.

Which would be the best path to level, if I aim to do this build in the future?

Full Disclosure guys : I’ve become aware of a bug/bugs with Seal of Blades and apparently other Aura items aswell. It looks like attaching devotion to the aura allows it to be procced by everything so basicly instead of having 15% to proc something by a certain aura you have 15% to proc it by any dmg. This is going to be fixed in the next patch and untill then i’m not going to post any videos as i want to see if the build is even viable after the fix - i expect single target to take some hit - Aoe should be fine. Hopefully it will still work fine after fix just with a bit lower dmg.
