Pummeler mods are very strong for FW. You end up in kinda the same place damage wise. But you’d be able to use runes or something with beronath
I was surprised, but tests shown that Beronath is better than Pummeler and Mutant bludgeon damage-wise. Just test it yourself.
With Pummeler i got 121k max crit, with bludgeon I got 133k, and with Beronath i got 198k crits.
Tested them with the mannequins in Fort Ikon under all buffs and debuffs.
I know a good buldgeon is better indeed. You do have more OA and %crit with beronath. But 131k crits with pummeler seem low to begin with no matter what you use so i’m surprised. I had 190-200K with Pummeler in Vanilla vs dummy while deadly aim was active (was tactician not WB)
Edit: I see you don’t have deadly momentum so that is a big factor, different play styles I guess:). I also used bladetwister but that is not necessarily BiS
Wow. Great crits, of course.
However, it’s explainable: Deadly aim provides additional crit damage as well as OA, while witchblade don’t have them, and Beronath fills this gape.
About my test: i got a great Mutant bludgeon same as mentioned in guides - Stonefaced … of fervor.
Edit: yeah, I use Cadence only to invoke Cleansing waters. Build is already “piano”, I don’t want to add more spammy buttons like crazy octopus
Well you do have CoF rr and Blood of dreeg for OA. Damage wise they should be kinda even, no substantial difference.
But Deadly momentum charged up is a massive increase to your dots. Better than investing too much in rend for example
Forcewave itself has up to 2112/3sec flat damage in my build (Internal trauma - up to 1266, 360 from Octavius, 300 from amulet, 186 from Oleron’s rage converted to 3sec), while Deadly momentum (12/12) provides only 126 converted to 3sec. It’s +6% DPS.
At the same time Rending force provides 8% additional crit damage. I can get 1.90 crit modifier instead of 1.82. It’s +4.2% DPS.
So they provide almost equal amount of DPS. But with Deadly momentum you must fight in close combat to keep DM up, while I just push and kite, which is safer.
All i can say is that with roughly the same setup(I had pummeer, spellscourge, blade twister and kalastor medal instead), maxed FW, oleron, rend etc etc, all possible dmage skills that would aid FW spam without deadly momentum resulted in a 30-40% total dot dps loss for me on dummy, from ~200K to ~150K. This however is not a big problem in crucible with buffs where you will have enough damage to kill nemeses properly.
Interesting. In comparison to your crits my calculation of damage seems incorrect, but where? DM simply can’t add THIS much.
126/3 sec + 84% IT damage != 30-40% dps loss i think.
My version ( tactician ):

Damage is a bit mediocre in solo ( no RR skill & low base OA ), but I’m playing crucible in group - tactician is very welcomed as a support.
You have to take into account that Oleron rage is dmg over 5 secs and Deadly momentum over 2 secs!!! When you divide max oleron by 5 and max deadly momentum by 2, you realize that by dropping deadly momentum you are basically missing out on another oleron;)
I mentioned that I recalculated each damage to match 3 seconds. For example, DM 12/12 has 84/2sec, which is 126/3sec. Same for Oleron’s rage, as you can see - 310/5sec became 186/3sec.
Total damage in my calculation is fit to 3 seconds, so when I divide it by 3 i will get the same picture in meaning of percentage.
Ok my bad, but you are still dropping a 2nd oleron’s rage basically no matter how you calculate. That’s big hit considering how much %weapon dmg and % crit (+rr in your case) capitalize on flat internal trauma
No problem, I’ll try this way and report my results later. Thanks for advice!
Hope it works out. Spamming FW without charging DM is certainly more comfortable and I wanted it too. But DM was too juicy, especially in crucible.
Just FYI this is my peak performance with dummies with green weapon, Pummerler might even hit harder. 133k max crit seems weird

Really weird.
Seems like you have higher OA, my crits are less colored. And that’s weird^2
panda, the illusion on your weapon…is it for anal trauma?

I forgot to ask you. Have you tried Gladiator belt+Second Rite? Should be interesting although strenuous on skill points. That might be more adequate for auto attackers
That is quiet impressive.
My DK has never reached that kind of numbers.
Average numbers on ultimate dummy is 50 - 100k crits with 130k crits max.
