1.0.6 Game freeze on loading save/creating new game

Hi everyone,

I tried the 1.0 recently and haven’t played since 0.9. The game used to work fine on my PC, no crash, not that much lag or any loading issues before ( loading could take like a minute for a big city but that’s all)

But since 1.0.6, when I try to load a save or create a new game, the game will freeze on the loading screen, either at the beginning, or on the last 10% of the bar (giving me the false hope of getting trough the problem for once).
To be clear, I don’t try to load games from the 0.9 version, I’ve been able to create a single map in the 1.0.6 version, and since I’m unable to create a new or to load my save of this map 9 times out of 10.

I’ve tried to check steam files, reinstall the game, update my drivers, I’ve cleared One drive, I’ve also made sure that my saves are hosted on my PC and not on One Drive (maybe they are also saved on the Steam cloud? Idk), but nothing works.

My PC is good enough to run the game, so it’s not a potato issue (64Go ram DDR4, i5 2.9Ghz Geforce 3060) and it used to work well in the early access.

When this happen, I can still alt+tab and close the game via task manager, FF it’s not marked as unresponsive either, it just remain stuck on that loading screen.

Can you upload your dxdiag please? Also, are you running any mods or have manually installed melonloader at any point?

And to make me lie, the game loaded my save first try this morning xD so I hope the log would still be helpful

Your specs and drivers seem sufficient, so nothing immediately problematic jumps out.

The last 10% of the progress bar taking longer is normal. Unity packs in a whole lot in that last 10% (progress bars suck). If it never recovers from that 10%, that is definitely an issue.

If you are able to start settlements now then great!
