Disclaimer The run done in the video is 90s longer than the advertised amount for 2 reasons:
i. the mutators from 161-170 were absolutely horrendous
ii. The UI of the recording software blocks my minimap. And with all the explosions, I was literally squinting at the screen.

Introduction
The buff to light’s defender has always intrigued me. Stun jacks, can it work?

So I dusted off heatwave’s and my skyfire grenado purifier, and decided to give it a whirl.

And oh my. It does.

To my knowledge, the biggest flaw of most grenado builds can be attributed to their inconsistent damage spikes.

Stunjacks fixes this problem very nicely as it also benefits from ulzuin’s chosen.

Weaknesses of the build
IMO, I think the nonstop explosions which come from spamming stunjacks really hinder your visibility. This is especially true when you have:
i. Seal
ii. Storm shard
iii. Grenades exploding
iv. Thermite mines
v. Stormbox of egoloth

Sometimes all the explosions coincide to form a little blob of white light so intense your character simply vanishes inside it.

I had to apply illusions on my armor pieces to make them black so that it’d mitigate the problem somewhat.

Itemization
Awesome purples:

  • Full light’s set
  • Rune of elgoloth
  • Cataclysm tome + Amulet
  • Ulzuin’s belt
  • Tranquil mind pants
  • Storm bearers
  • Ignaffar’s combustion

Greens:

  • 2x gargabol + Kymon’s badge
No specific rolls needed. Just use whatever fixes your resists, OA/DA, etc.

Devotions

  1. All crossroads except green, and yellow
  2. Jackal, viper, quill, sailor’s guide, eel, watchtower
  3. Behemoth (N.B: I hate behemoth, but it’s needed to offset the HP drain from dying god)
  4. 3 nodes into crown, widow
  5. Dying God
  6. Spear of the heavens
  7. 1 point into aeon’s for +40 to all stats.
  8. 1 point into throne for stun resist (if needed)

Oh please we have to find a way for full cataclysm  This is torment.

Welcome back :stuck_out_tongue:

New build every day? :stuck_out_tongue:

Do you reckon full cataclysm > the belt choice here? It was something I initially went back and forth on, until my OCD for 26/16 grenado won.

Good to be back fluff.

EDIT: @Korsar, probably only on the weekends. Wasn’t too difficult seeing that I had a purifier more or less set up the way I needed it to be. :stuck_out_tongue:

You can do it in 6 minutes if you drop SJ in favor of Mortars, cap Storm box.

Can you help me understand why?

I would have thought that the unconverted physical/fire damage on mortar would be quite meh.

I’m sure I’m missing something though.

Wait 10 days until FG hit, everyone will forget about Crucible when shards appear
Read patch notes and plan Oathkeeper builds)

I`m gona post it later =)

How does stormbox work exactly? What is the damage interval on it?

Thats the debuff with duration, like Curse of Frailty.

So the lightning damage only applies once?

No, it hits every second for 6 sec skill duration.

On the main skill it’s once a second, the tether scales with cast speed.

Is it possible to stack stormbox/tethers on the same unit?

I feel like the answer is most likely no, but I’m just wondering about the allagast set.

Answer is no.

About stormbox.

  1. stormbox hits 1 time per second, tether hits a lot of times per second, depending on your cast speed(research). Don’t know exactly how many times, we need superman to answer.
  2. sb doesn’d stacks if you cast it on 1 target a lot of times, and stacks on different targets, staying close. research
  3. tether stacks from different targets too, research

Stormbox strong. Stormbox can do cruci.

SJ strong. Stormbox strong. Grenado strong.

I can only pick 2 of the 3.

Sounds like a good problem to have to me.

Wow, that’s detailed test

Hmm. I assumed this would be simple. I believed tether to hit 3.33 times per second so +100% cast speed gear/devo should mean 6.66 per second. I am not certain of the figure exactly but it is around that I think. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can confirm though.
