This happens only when the blueberry bush is on the coast.
terraform the grids within and around it and try again.

Sounds like a good tip, I’ll try that. Would be nice if we didn’t need to discover workarounds for this game’s most unique little flair
Also happens with bushes and stones but Blueberries are by far the most annoying. I haven’t tried to terraform, though.
The terraform trick works in some cases, I can confirm it worked once with a blue-berry and others with a stone.
