[1.1.1.2] 2h Ra'zin Witchblade, looking for advice

Finished my 2h chaos build, pretty happy overall. Damage is very high, but feel i’m lacking some defense. Not sure what it is, just doesn’t feel like it holds up as well as my blademaster main build. Wanted to go runebound topaz in rings to help DA but just couldn’t, needed the energy regen to sustain. So wondering if that’s an issue.

Maybe is going time dilation. The only real use I get out of it is double doombolts, which don’t get me wrong, absolutely murders things. But almost feels like a waste. Do I need to get ghoul to get more use out of dilation? Only circuit breaker is Mehnirs Will. I find I can’t sit on BoD to heal cause I need it 100% up time to cover poison resists, so when things start to go down hill in sr and I can’t lifesteal my way out of it is where i’m running into issues.

Basically seeing if anyone has some ideas on how to improve the build.

Just a few thoughts:

You may be able to use a mark of divinity if you feel you are in need of another circuit breaker.

Blood of Dreeg can be used as a spot heal during the 15 second window between when it goes off cooldown and when you need to reapply it. It is difficult to do, but if save it until you need to reapply it you can have it during some of those times when you really need a heal.

You might benefit from dropping a few points from cunning into physique to help make up for the lost DA by swapping medals.

I would also drop a point from Scars of Battle and Military Conditioning to get Menhir’s Will up to 4 points for the 30% health restored. It can make a big difference.

i like the idea of bumping up Menhirs Will, was debating that as well. With -310 OA from wasting and soa, was hoping I could get by with 2.8k DA. I really think all I need is a better circuit breaker. With the +180% wd to doombolt from gear, it turns into a massive heal that a can get back to back with dilation. Or at least I think thats how it work, correct me if i’m wrong. Just need to live that split second long enough to cast it. Maybe upping Menhirs Will will do the trick. I give it a test, thanks.

Yeah, from my experience Menhir’s is only worth it at end game with at least 4, 6 is ideal if you aren’t maxing it out. Chaos Witchblade is hard to make work because of the low OA/DA and generally poor resistance reduction. I tried for a long time to make chaos cadence work, but it never got past wave 150 in crucible. Of course the new Rah’zin set might change things.

The rah’zin ammy adding rr to cof really helps. Witchblade being able to debuff both da and oa saves the day as well.

After testing with higher points in mehnirs I think this is my new favorite build. Using doombolt as a big heal when bod not avail and mehnirs saving my butt, it’s been rolling everything. The damage is really up there. Really happy with the way this build came out. Thanks for the advice

Glad to hear it! Maybe once I manage to farm up the full set I’ll give the build a whirl myself.

I don’t see why you’ve taken CoF and Vulnerability to 13 apiece? That seems an easy way to save a few points…

Have you tried dropping Vulnerability down to rank 4 (only one hard point) and perhaps shaving a few points from CoF as well? That’d give you some easy points to up Menhir’s and potentially pick up Markovian’s Advantage and/or increase the % weapon damage on Zolhan’s.

Devotions looks like solid choices all around. Although I am curious if you actually find good bindings from Eldritch Fire, Guardian’s Gaze, and Flame Torrent all at once?

I didn’t notice first go around, but yeah, dropping CoF and Vuln. down to 1 hard point each will free up points for more menhir’s and you can also get war cry as well for the amazing 25% damage reduction.

Something like https://www.grimtools.com/calc/4VxOvee2

Or a second option is to salvage a few points from soldier passives and get aspect of the guardian to 12/12 for the extra phys and poison res. which also may give you better options with augments to help you overcap aether resistance. like https://www.grimtools.com/calc/m23674BN

agree on taking points out of cof, good call. leaving points in vul though as i need the -da to be able to crit.

to silbens points, loving the binding i have with Eldritch Fire, Guardian’s Gaze, and Flame Torrent. pox gets multiple eyes up super fast, cof procs flames like crazy as well. and i bind eldritch to default attack replacer to secure rr on every hit. tried other binding but this has been working the best.

bystander i love your idea for warcry, dunno why i didn’t think of that but warcry + possession has made it super tanky. really good call on that. seriously guys thanks for the tips. this guy feels invulnerable now

Sweet! just out of curiosity, how far have you taken this build in SR or Crucible?

Only did sr 25 before I went of town for work. Will continue to push in two weeks when I’m home. But crucible run was fine before I left. Wasn’t keeping track of time as my pilot skills suck and that’s not how I rate my builds. I rate them mostly on damage, survival, and easy of use, ie: few buttons. This one seems a winner so far
