[1.1.4.2] Aether Drain Essence Spellbinder

Best analysis is to compare the average of 3x dummy kill times.

EDIT: No doubt AAR is higher DPS though. But DE should have incredible sustain.

I think DE need weapon damage build. I will try to use none set to see the performances in action.

TBH, 24% WD isn’t a lot on your build. ~2750 DPH.

Might be worth testing m. essence of the grim dawn. Higher %aether damage, casting speed, flat damage, and better adcth.

EDIT: Getting off topic here.

In my AAR build there is no ADCTH modifier added to AAR, I found with 24% weapon damage even 14% global ADCTH(that is 0.14 * 0.24 = 3.36%) is quite enough for healing. So I don’t really think that set added ADCTH to DE is very important as long as I may get DE deal as much damage as I can.

i have build a similar Apostate Drain Essence with Uroboruk set for a while. When the most important thing i faced is when taking combo Revenant/ DG/ SoH devotion route, it lack a lot of mana regen with apostate and then i think- screw it, i’m taking the “down route” toward combo Lantern/ Harvest/ Attack Seru instead, and the result is quite nice. And then i try this same set up with your Spellbinder build, turns out a little bit better i think: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/RZROpYON
As you can see, this set up nets maybe more than 200 percent aether dam, 30 percent crit dam more, a huge 260 mana regen ̣ so you dont need ectoplasm anymore. and the best thing about it, is binding drain essence to Attack Seru proc, which i think is one of the coolest proc skill in game. Huge 14m wave of aether proc skill. This is just “theorycraft” build, and i dont have a actually spellbinder, can you try and check how this build work? I really want to see that spellbinder vs apostate in this set up which better. Tks

@gutten_morgen it’s really morning actually. I mean Arcanist provides the missing energy regeneration but not sure if Arcanum dust+Ectoplasm can provide energy sustain for Apostate.

As Binder vs Apostate, I would say Binder is little better. Devastation is one of the reasons, since it’s massive nuke skill.

TBH, I think the binder is better simply because of mirror/MoT combo.

I think the route used by @gutten_morgen is really smart for an apostate DE spec, however, Aeon’s is a must on all binders because of the aforementioned combo.

This means that you’re more-or-less glued to Aeon’s, SoTH, DG

Tks a lot. Yeah i dont feel comfortable with Aeon/ SoH on my Apostate. Even with 2 ectoplasm my mana drain in seconds. Maybe i’ll start playing spellbinder right now

If you like Apostate, stick with it. Next patch will improve pain as RR source.

PS, welcome to the forum from me also!

If you want a different spin on a DE spec: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/1NXmBJX2

It’s a build I’ve been toying around with. While it lacks the clear speed/DPS of aether DE, it is the true definition of a leech tank.

Slow, but immovable.

I call it the “no brainer drainer” because of how easy it is to play

Hey nery i’m trying to play this build isn’t better to pick omen 3 instead of ravenous earth after they buffed omen 3?

Well this build was made prior to the change but I definitely will use Omen now. For channeling skill, you need less interruptions as possible.
