Maybe consider using oath light ring for Pierce to Fire convertion.
Are you stupid? it is a beginner friendly build for beginner farming so like challenger crucible, rouge-likes etc.
Faction items, craftable belt + boots, shield you shop at hyram, gun you need just one with phys > fire prefix (since its damage is irrelevant you can farm these in normal), medal same just get one with decent defensive stats you can farm them in normal too, pants just farm a few solael and same with gloves. Grab any ones that gives good resistances (use augments to fill in the resistance gaps). Chest armor: just take whatever you find. You drop plenty of those.
If you want more slow res than 28%, get OK exclusive (I actually prefer that one over Aura of Censure tbh) though ascension is usually enough for me. You do not use attack speed here so.
Look in the build compendium for other beginner builds and you’ll see that this is standard for that genre. Like the pre-krieg dk build, etc.

I think this “no green item” mentality needs to be removed from the forum entirely. Just look at that stupid “no green build thread”. I cant submit a build with green faction shoulders in that one since ITS GREEN LOL
The rings you mentioned are specific random drops so I can not use them in beginner/budget builds.
Learn what it is you are criticizing.
I didn’t realize that shield was faction sold. Who sells it?

You can wait for my guide, should be done like on Tuseday or so next week. I will explain there how to get that shield (note you basically only need one with physical resists, the suffix is just icing on the cake - it is magic tier also), But you can guess who it is, considering the name of the shield.

(also what is good, is that Mythical Final March are not that rare, good boots for a low-tier version of the RoK+AoM Paladin)
I think Force March boots are pretty easy to farm for slow reaistance.
Well, you cannot expect people to remember all faction items by heart. If you post a green build, then please clarify that it’s just faction items, so people won’t be surprised.

When ppl post “green” builds they have in 99% of the cases have a full leg set and then some sick double rare MI’s. I have one rare affix and 0 legs on the entire build :rolleyes: that should make you realize, with the add-on that I wrote beginner/budget build, that we are dealing with easy to get green items and not some fantasy/GD-stash stuff.
Regarding the shield, who sells the other “aetherial” shields with almost identical artwork? 
I thought the Aegis part of the shield was very rare, but apparently it isn’t.
Sorry I meant to say final march, not force March. These are low level to mythical epic boots.
I have like 3 of them in my stash, so I feel they drop pretty much everywhere.
So with this sword any type of ele damage is “fine” … wow that thing really makes a lot of items more usefull (and i even have the blueprint!)
No its very easy to get that or very similar shield, same with the gun.
It is nowhere near as damaging or safe as the Octavius/Virtue set builds, but it is a decent start if someone is poor or just wanna try the overall gameplay style of it.
Yes, it even converts the dots to internal trauma.
A fun build I made “back in the days” was a forcewave Death Knight with the Levithan and Rhowans crown devotion procs converted to physical/internal trauma damage.
Well I just completed my first ever set in Grim Dawn, and it happens to be Octavius (thanks to the new transmute system). I’m super happy about it, because it’s the one set I would have picked if I had the choice.
Only question I have at this point is, should I go Paladin or Warlord? I have the Pummeler, which would be better for a Warlord, but I don’t mind waiting for the sword in this build to drop. Anyone have a + and - of Warlord vs Paladin? Based on how the Paladin performed in this guide (SR 75) I guess there aren’t many negatives to it, other than maybe a reactionary nerf.
IIRC, Beronath is a pattern, so the sword itself won’t drop. The best way to farm patterns is usually nemesis bosses, they drop one almost every time. Crucible is pretty good too. So check if you have the pattern already if you’ve been playing a while!
