Im at work right now on hold, so this will be quick- @Nery already mentioned the strong support benefits of Occultist and Shaman in a multiplayer setting.
My gut instinct for one approach is for your friend to play as a super-durable tank with strong taunt abilities, with the idea being that theyll stand on your sigil of consumption and taunt enemies onto them or at least into the general vicinity, making it easier for you to place sigils in range of clusters of enemies or bosses.
The immediate class combo that comes to mind is a Tactician. While youre placing sigils, he can be placing Seals. Soldier also has great party buffs (Field Command) and taunt ability, and Inquisitor has Word of Renewal in addition to the Seals.
I imagine these builds would have a lot of synergies in multiplayer together, operating well as Inquisitor also has good RR capabilities, and the playstyles of positioning being relevant while laying down sigils and seals should run parallel to eachother.
@Nery just wanted to say thanks for this great guide! It must be very time consuming putting together so much information in one post. I started from scratch after few years of break and this conjurer is an amazing leveler. I tried 3 other builds and this one seems to be the easiest to level. Everything is dead before I even blink with self found gear. Thanks!
@Nery:
Which would be the stronger vitality caster path? Sigil of Consumption (and its modifier) or Wendigo Totem (and its modifier) and Storm Totem (and its modifier).
Corrupted Storm Totem could allow for greater area spread with totem placement.
Also, have you considered doing a Vita Conjurer beginner build with a Shaman start and focus?
I like better Occultist path and Sigil than Shaman and totems. Wendigo totem is especially weak skill without Dark One set. Conjurer around Corrupted totems is possible but that will be completely different build. I like better this way of leveling and it’s pretty strong but I don’t want to impose play style.
New to the game and enjoying this guide! Thanks a lot for the work you’ve put into breaking down leveling tier goals. I’ve subscribed to you on YouTube and will check out your content when I can.
By the way, @Nery, have you thought about using Storm Totem m.i. off-hand here? Easy to farm and should boost this build quite a bit. Solael’s off-hand doesn’t seem to give this build much if anything besides some qol stats.
Yes, I have thought about it. But because your end game build is with GulAmash and focused around Silgils etc I wanted to make more straightforward build in same manner. But corrupted totems are quite potent, although for leveling/campaign they’re not as good as in Crucible.
Hi, I just played for few days. im at level 18 atm, but the single target damage is really bad.
does the gameplay only revolves around casting Pox, Frailty, Devouring Swarm and basically AFK / kiting while the dps do its job?
I tried using that spell component, but it doesn’t feel like doing that much better
So more or less, the gameplay is pretty much like that and eventually the DPS will catch up?
Just wanna makes sure in case I might do something wrong.
It’s kinda weird how it struggles badly on single target compared to other beginner build, although I only tried bird pet, spin2win, OFF, and nightblade dual wield melee. Eventhough it feels like it deals much better AoE damage and cleared everything much faster than those build
Eventually your single target damage will increase, I have mention that in the guide. Basically when you add Sigil and Wendigo devotion you’ll notice massive boost, same with Rattosh’s -RR and Dying God for %damage, each one will give you significant damage increase.
Play style isn’t of kiting caster, you should hold your ground against virtually everything with massive life steal from spells.
I’ve been playing it for a couple hours each day. I got a massive increase in dps today when I got to Mountain Deeps and farmed a good Bone weapon/shield from Trog enemies (which you mentioned in build). I was level 35 and swapped to crucible and got through level 100 (normal difficulty). Really enjoying this build so far. It was a bit slow to start but early on it felt with a decent shield and gear nothing could kill me, I just had to run around casting spells slowly killing enemy bosses. Now they die quickly.
