Any non-converted physical damage builds using Maul skill now?
3000 enemy armor would end up at 2100 armor.
Could someone do a quick theoretical math about how much this could increase damage?
I have a Righteous Fervor SnB Warlord (100% Block Recovery) who is looking for opportunities to encrease his rather lowish damage but keeping shield heavy play and doesnt want to go full Cunning. Its my only physical dmg build. https://www.grimtools.com/calc/pZrmA5jV
I cannot ellaborate why i think that Maul could serve well on such weak (damage) physical build like mine. 1H + not going Cadence cripples somewhat, but it has still something to offer. And i like shield and RF so much.
My thought was like: One big problem of a physical RF 1H Warlord is enemy armor, so…
Thanks for any help understanding the value of -30% enemy armor reduction on fast but low physical damage per hit builds.
Test against ravager with and without maul and you will see. That is what I did with my Cadence warlord https://www.grimtools.com/calc/62am9Wm2 and I think damage went up a bit with maul. But perhaps difference is bigger with RF than with cadence
ADctH from Maul not interesting? Because afaik you miss the healing then. Could be marginal though. I figured out for me that Guardians can handle Assasines Blades RR well enough letting me use Maul on RF.
One question: Why you use Shattering Smash AND Warcry (same RR)? Only to get more WPS? Scales Devotion RR wont stack either with those afaik. But sometimes even if it not stacks, its good to have more consistency of RR. See my rings RR proc. Same source, but it spreads faster = more reliable.
Got it. The healing thing didnt thought about like i should. I missed the point totally. I was thinking wrongly about %weapon damage on a devotion skill proc which could heal if you have global ADctH on gear, but only works if you use it yourself. Thats still true i htink. But well i am happy because then its even better to build Maul in.
Thanks again.
Now when I am thinking about it, you might be correct here. Maul no longer have weapon damage so this means if bounded to guardian it can’t heal you.
Btw have you considering getting such MI shield that I use? It will negate out a big part of overguard markovian defense damage penalty. Now when affixes are better to get rares, you can shop hyram like a maniac. That is how I got mine
Yes, your shield seems better. But i dont have such a good one. And i have trouble to get 25% elemental resistance overcap, for now. The one thing that i thought could also help my damage a bit is the elemental to physical conversion on that shield, because of RF, Smite and Guardians flat damage, which then ignores armor. Small physical flat damage is weak, but small non-physical damage converted to physical is a good thing to watch for. Even if its not 100% conversion. Could be wrong here. And the global CDR i like also too. But if i could reach more elmental res, than i would like to switch the shield.
change one ring to coven storm seal with high elemental resistance roll. take point from valor to RF to get 8 charge levels again.
for shield, look for “of valor” suffix https://www.grimtools.com/calc/4ZDmRl1N
I always check hyram 2-3 times every game I make just to look at shields and stuff for builds
Thats a good idea, i dont need two of those rings, its so small CD. I know it doesnt stack but i is a better AOE spreading for sure, which is also not the most important thing.
I will go from the ring then forward to change my shield.
Nice.
