1.1.8.0 Really?

What about every class damage type combo is that even a consideration?

Why are you not even prioritizing celestial presence? RR is the second most important stat in the game after your resistances. Also even fully geared up that build will lack damage. Armor mechanics, cadence aoe limitations. Warlord has a glaring weakness namely lack of skill points which is very apparent in your build. There’s a reason why s&b non retal isn’t even a discussion when it comes to builds unless it’s asking for buffs.

I told you. You can’t have it all in one build.

Edit: when fully geared s&b non retal can be viable, but not overpowered

I don’t agree with OP statements about the OP classes at all but I like the thread

Also stats are good place to start but reality can be really different. Archon and Warder are ok classes, nothing spectacular though. Classes like Infiltrator, Sorc or Dervish shine much brighter prior to this patch.

I like Markovian Warlord but it’s not OP, since you’re giving up some damage to be tanky, that’s the point of shielded based characters.

It is not, nor do I think it is in the best interest of the game.

If everything is equally possible, then it just becomes a choose your own color game.

Except pink, because the devs hate pink

well there are already items that convert physical damage to everything else except…
Pierce and bleed.
So what classes do that as main damage type?

I still have 12 + points to spend on skills and 23+attribute points the build is not done or even tweaked yet.
You wanted an example and I linked it… I believe it still proves my point that even without trying and still not finished this build easily still meets all the above conditions I mentioned in the original OP those few resists that are slightly under will be easily made up with components/augments

Maybe you should test yourself some more instead of what you consider OP because its easier for you.
Ill take half that HP + DA + Armor to kill things faster.
Play spellbreaker and druid 4life

My main is a witch hunter it is more enjoyable to bounce around then stand there.

And you need 18 to even start getting celestial presence. 12 to max it for 30 in total. And you need to take away skill points from other skills to do that i.e. sacrificing something. I wasn’t even talking about stats and damage yet. S&b non retal damage is one of the worst in the entire game.

Also, this is warlord, the stronger one out of the three classes you listed. And yes it can be decent. Warder and archon can be waaaay worse (they have their own strong builds but none looks like this)

Even if it’s a joke thread from some alt, i had a good laugh, thanks

If serious, your post is missing the most important part: what is OP in your view? Maybe we are talking hardcore only here? That’s mostly uncharted territory for the majority of people (left) on the forums.

If we are talking softcore, the usual metrics for builds performance are Crucible times of consistent clear, depth of SR crawling, SR65-66/75-76 farm time and Celestial kills as a bonus. Of the 3 classes you talk about, only Warlord can boast select builds (retal) that are able to do 2) and 4) of the mentioned above. Warder and Archon pre1.1.8 were among the weaker classes in softcore metrics.

Numbers mean nothing rly. So often my builds fail with that shiny numbers in op. And every now and then my builds rock despite not having them.

in complex game like gd, there’ll never be true fairness. there’ll always be meta & imbalance. & thats ok. gd isn’t a competitive game anyway. its for people who love theorycrafting builds & people who just want to play arpg whatever way they want.

i sense that the color black & dark blue will be meta soon. considering how many yugol related updates pop out recently. prepare your inner emos to dominate shattered realm and whatever end games as long as black dark blue is still in season.

It’s a lot more complicated than that to make non-standard class combos shine.

In addition to having the conversion gear, you also have to have:

  • The gear in the right slots so that the conversion gear is not conflicting with a set or other mandatory gearing
  • Having a main skill in mind (what would a lightning witch hunter use? Phantasmal Blades? Doom Bolt + Blade Spirit?)
  • Having bonuses to that main skill while also giving relevant %damage bonuses in said gear.
  • Having enough OA / DA / page 3 resistances to function (and also not have it conflict with the conversion gear / other mandatory gear)
  • Making sure your actual resistances are up to par (which was buffed in 1.1.8.0 thanks to the augment changes)
  • Getting 170-200% Attack or Cast speed consistently depending on what skill you’re using
  • Having enough sustaintability through ADCTH + speed, Health Regen, multiple heals, and so forth.

Having all the things you demand would require a huge number of sets that are simply not worth it. There are already a huge number of viable builds as is, and in reality, there are lot of conversions already in place that are simply not viable due to the lack of item support (Acid Wind Devils are at the top of this in terms of confusing conversions).
