[1.1.9.0] Pure Soldier [HC] Beginner Forcewave 1-75 Leveling Guide + Endgame Options and Class Combos

Different affixes have different level requirements, even at similar breakpoints. Let’s say an item can drop at 40. The level 40-ish corresponding affixes might be 36 or 44 or 40. This can result in a level 40 item having a higher requirement because it happened to get a 40-range affix.

where does this chestplate drop Devil's Cage Hauberk - Items - Grim Dawn Item Database it does not say anywhere

Thank you for the guide, it is helpful for someone like me who doesn’t play often and likes to come back to this game. I have been enjoying this build a lot. 2 things I wasn’t sure of, that would be helpful to add to the guide, is which Relics to use, and how do you farm the Obsidian War Cleaver for level 30 and 40?

I believe I usually farm them in the last act of the base game. The necropolis and surrounding areas.

If an item doesn’t show a drop location then that means it’s a random drop from anything.

Ive built variations of this same Warlord many times (EOR/FW). Its rock solid and very fun to play. My latest is a mono mastery FW soldier build. Im currently on Elite difficulty (level 53) and i fear absolutely nothing in game (bosses/heros/etc.). The reason i went mono mastery is i love soldier, but i havent found any second mastery that really compliments soldier, or that i like (personaly). If you fully max out a mono mastery soldier build, its amazing, but theres a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Your devotion path makes a huge difference, and of course theres many (depending on your chosen damage choice, skillset, etc.).
  2. FW basicly makes you a mid-range caster, so youll almost never be using your normal weapon powers, so why waste skill points into weapon powers if you will rarely ever use them?, though as a mono build youll have enough points to add them if you like (nice option).

Everyones different and we all make different builds, but a mono mastery build like soldier can get you to level 100 (end game) or do SR’s with ease. The OP is totally correct, with the right gear, devotions, and damage type, a soldier eats mobs for dinner, easliy. Once again i fear nothing and really enjoy the game, as its fun and keeps you interrested…

Welcome to forum.

Why play Elite when you can skip it now? I hit Ultimate with my recent warlord as a pure soldier at level 62 and it was still pretty much a walk in the park. But the same can be said about almost all mono-classes at this point, as long as you have good resistances on gear etc. There is nothing special about soldier in this regard, I did same with Shaman, with Inquisitor, with Occultist, with Necro…

I think you mean complements
If you are dealing physical damage, there are some easy options, like necro oathkeeper and occultist for their resistance reduction mechanic which will be quite important once you hit the later parts of Ultimate and the endgame stuff.
