[1.2.0.3 ] 43 A Cabalist lost in the midst (FD before AoM?)

I’m posting here because my first topic was moved to here since I’ve posted some of my builds, despite of not sharing any kind of suggestion about the theme whatsoever. Still, if it’s wrong again move it.

So I’ve beaten Warder(n) – I’m always confused about his name last letter – and Darius couldn’t have been easier than even master of the pit.

I had almost everything right about my build but since I’m used to making changes accordingly to the boss next quest I found my self lost.

Here’s my latest build which was more a crucible test than a thoughtful choice. Although, I’m taking this opportunity to ask about being anounced the FG before AoM and as far as I’m concerned there’s no way to beat FD before AoM lost like this.

Any tips, explanations and suggestions I’m taking.

Kill the non believer.

Thanks.

if you want an easier time get your dmg resist up
use component in every slot, looks like you’re currently missing a couple
remember blacksmith can craft components too, many that are better than the drop ones (some drop ones are great)
i’ve no idea about the build direction/theme/goal, seems like you’re just low pointing “stuff”, without actually boosting anything (this is not really great, usually you want a main skill and want it maxed by now for smoother time)
Stats doesn’t really look half bad otherwise. Nice HP, OA/DA, managed to cover a bunch of resist even if missing a couple important ones.
I’m glad to see a levelling build in one of the rare cases where level relevant items are being used, so that’s nicely done.
Devos aren’t awful either, obviously could be more optimal, but at this stage having 3x tier1 dmg devos is not really bad.
I could speculate you might run into sustain/healing trouble tho, you don’t necessarily need to fix that in devos since Cabalist has decent spells that can lifesteal like Sigil.
You legit have lots of options as Cabalist, the world is your oyster, while you’re not forced into picking 1 skill/making 1 fixed build or "meta"build, getting a sense of direction and investing more heavily/directly into something will greatly aid you whether it’s maxing sigil, a pet, doom bolt etc

Progression wise it’s normally recommended to do game in release order, so Base Game → AoM → FG, you can technically clear FG before AoM, and it’s totally doable to make a char/build handle that, but it will be easier/smoother progression to clear in the aforementioned order. And if you wish to clear FG first it will help even more to get some slight tweaks in for your char (vit poison and lightning dmg abundant)

Long time no see,

Thank you so much for your feedback.

I thought I should have made my real build choice before displaying here but since I’m having issues to connect I took the one shot I’ve got. I’m always crafting and stuff and I’ve got other chars to help me out one way or another – like not spending my iron when the “npc chars” can do it.

I’m trying to get the most “hellbound” char – I can’t see anuthing with “chaos” and “decay” in the name or in its info that I hardly take notice if it’s really a good shot.

Once again, thank you so much. I must save it.

Impressive.

it’s not so much that you “have” to make your build now, just that it will greatly smooth progression out.
I’ve done several levelling chars where i just 1pointed “every” skill and didn’t start maxing stuff until past like lvl 60 or something, it’s totally doable, but way rougher

the 2 main things that make the game easier is stacking resists up, and having a (solid) main skill maxed, and then stacking on boosters/passives fitting RR etc.
The difference from maxing ex Drain Essence or Sigils already at level 20, or (going mainly pet focused), slapping on RR and passives before lvl 50, vs the "little bit of everything"approach is rather huge in contrast
I really enjoy piano builds often, and really like to unlock skills “fast”, but i can’t deny my levelling is “weaker” than when i go more directly focused by comparison - totally works, but noticeably tougher time.

Now this is my current main char I think it’s more reasonable and more stable. I’m having a tough time to find ways to up my aether resistence.
