[1.2.0.3] PyroKnight - Fairly Tanky, Cruisey Playstyle - SR 80, Cr 170

GrimTools: Pyromancer, Level 100 (GD 1.2.0.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

This is a cruisey/tanky melee build with a tonne of fire procs for show and extra damage. While the overall damage output of the build isn’t mindblowing, it’s not terrible either; In this SR 75 video, you can see that it clocks into the boss room with over 10mins left on the clock which isn’t too bad.

The build does use two green items, but the specific prefixes and suffixes are typically ‘nice to haves’, not ‘must haves’ for the build. The main requirement here is a prefix on the shield that provides physical resistance.

Despite the low HP of this character (around 12k), this build has great survivability. The tankiness of this build is attributed to:

  • 79% phys resistance
  • 18% Damage Absorption
  • 23% Damage Reduced to Enemies
  • 23% Fumble/Impaired Aim to enemies
  • Healing from Lifesteal, Vampire Fangs, Wayward Soul, Blast Shield, Blood of Dreeg
  • 89-92% elemental resistance (without blast shield active)
  • Blast Shield as an automatic circuitbreaker on a lowered cooldown providing 585 damage absorption
  • Decent resistance overcaps
  • Decent DA

The build is lacking in some aspects of CC resistance which can put it in some precarious situations, but with various proc heals, circuitbreakers and damage sources that are independent of you attacking (mortars, burn damage, all of the firey devotion procs), even while CC’d it’s rare that you take fatal damage. The heaviest hit of this build comes from Blazing Charge which offers a nice amount of spike damage every few seconds (557k hit so far), and despite having done Crucible 100-170 and SR 80, the heaviest hit that I’ve taken is still only ~3600. I’m yet to try this build against celestials.

If you’re looking for a cruisey chill time with some fireworks on a melee build, consider this build

If you’d prefer to play it like a caster, swap out the relic for Oblivion. It will deal slightly less damage, but it will be ranged, and will allow you to ultimately fight through crowds potentially faster due to the wave passing through enemies long before they’re in melee range.

Enjoy!
