Sometimes the Iron Maiden can Blitz twice in a row, so even if a player successfully evades the first attack, they’ll get killed by the second without a chance to react:
Supposedly, the The Iron Maiden’s Blitz attack should have a 4 second cooldown. But sometimes it’s just zero.
This is the second time I see this happen, and in high SR’s this is an absolute death sentence through no fault of the player themselves. It is a rare occurrence though, and seems to happen randomly. I’m not sure what causes it exactly.
Looks like you blitz’ed through her at close range, so she continued her charge to your new position since she did not reach her max charge distance yet.
Oh, are you referring to her charge at 0:00 on the video? Sorry I should have cut the video shorter; that’s not what I was referring to.
The problem I was reporting happened on her second charge that I evade, at 0:05 on the video. You can hear one charge being cast, and then a small “clash” sound as it connects (no damage). Then she stops for about 20 frames, and then you can hear another charge being cast.
Actually, during those 20 frames she raises her arms up in the air. Perhaps she was casting Overguard there, and that’s the “clash” sound we hear? It still is strange how she can charge again immediately after Overguard; or how she can even cast Overguard during/instead of a charge swing animation.
It still does, 90% of the time. But, apparently, sometimes she casts Overguard mid-charge, and if that coincides with the moment you evade, you’re screwed.
huh, i guess that might explain my Maiden Blitz death’s too
complained about her “insta”/double blitzing too, suggesting maybe the cooldown was bugged or got larger effect from CDR mutator.
But if it’s because she’s simply fake-out “ending” it and continuing the charge afterwards i guess that could make “sense” why it appeared as double charge
