(1.2.0.5) HC Octavian the Destroyer- Physical FW +AoM Warlord (no MI) - Calla, Mog Ravager

Sup, gd community!

Well, there’s nothing new on the concept of this build. just a simple “octavius warlord all content destroyer”.

Unfortunately, i had an fatal crash on my PC while doing SR80+ and lost everything (luckily enough, i shared the GT link with a friend and had already sent some videos of the build for YT.)

This char can deal a good amount of damage, big DoT’s while running around and have good survivability.

***Yeah, i know… you can totally use a ugdenbog girdle with good resistances and phys bonus on belt, but one of the goals while i was planning this char were NO-MI

Hello! I’m giving this build a go (I’m a bit late to the party, but I recently lost my first HC char so I wanted to try something new). The one question I had was did you try Menhir’s Bulwark vs Oleron’s Rage as the soldier exclusive or is the OA from Oleron’s vital for proc-ing crits? I’m attached to Menhir’s for the survivability but I might be too cautious. Thanks!

Hi there! I’m happy you had this build, as forcewave warlord is a build i wanted to do since a while. No MIs it’s a plus.

Except for i’ll use a ugdenbog girdle if i find a good une, i’ll go for your build. I’m thinking in use Menhir’s bulwark if the girdle has good OA? yes. Time will tell, perhaps when i get there it’s not needed.

There’s been some changes to vendors but in the past you could reset Vinelton for these girdles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HGOTYUQohc

(I think maybe the chance for double rare is lower now? but it still should be good)

You can actually reset vinelton nowadays

Wow, that’s a fast upload. Do you like playing with zoomed camera? That’s cool. I think it improves immersion a lot.

I play with the default camera setting XD

I’m farming vinelton right now, so i was able to upload it fast

Double post comming through

Finally i got a bunch of good ugdenbog girdles, with this at the top. The resistances of the Sash of the Immortal Sage are truly a thing.

So… starting the new character. I’ll be back.

Yeah they nerfed heavily the power-shopping stuff :smiling_face_with_tear:
But i found a very good double rare fleshwarped casque on my second run in port valbury, while farming endgame gear in my phys warder guide.

You know… RNG works on mysterious ways, even more in GD

Need to know: No Warcry? I thought it was good for physical builds. Do you have other sources of RR + enemy dmg mitigation? or just doesn’t worth the investment?

Honestly, i felt like this build didn’t need it, but you can try using it ofc, war cry is great

Hello again to @S.E.P_Ralf! Today I am evaluating yet another of your builds in the Ultimate Hardcore setting. Context: I had already found the Visor blueprint, and a lucky drop today netted the Pummeler. So it was time to graduate The Matron’s Wrath entry-level HC build to a grownup version. Having also lost a level 100 character today, I naturally lean towards survivability, so that meant Menhir’s Bulwark rather than Oleron’s Rage. While I understand your proof-of-concept desire to avoid MIs, for me, I just cannot turn down the quality-of-life that the ridiculously farmable Shambler’s Heart adds to the primary damage skill of non-spam Forcewave, and you can balance out affixes with those of the Ugdenbog girdle. My modifications to your original are as shown.

SR 32/33 performance observations: With Menhir’s Bulwark’s 17% damage absorption plus 4105 armor AND the occasional shield block; I felt the prudent need to use Overguard only once. Slower killing than your original, of course; fighting the Iron Maiden was like watching two gladiators go at it with butter knives, but mine was sharper. I believe that the devotion path you used for The Matron’s Wrath (Ulzaad) is actually superior to the older Rhowan’s Scepter, as the extra retaliation damage helps a bit during the Forcewave cooldown, as well as the offensive damage of Aegis of Menhir. I found having the longer-range Aegis useful to pull enemies off bad terrain where Forcewave could take over, along with the devotion trigger proc. I didn’t run into Grava’Thul this time, but against the other faction Nemesii, very low risk, even when they had double attack speed mutators. Definitely one of the stronger advanced HC builds out there; well done!

Ty for the reply and the feedback!
It’s nice to know this build still performs well :clap::clap:

The only thing I would change in your setup is swapping AoM and war cry on devotion procs.

War cry is perfect for 100% chance proccing ulzaad while you’ll benefit from AoM proccing the dryad at every 2.7 secs
