- [Caster] [1.2.1.5] Scion of ultos - Beginner Lightning deceiver - From the scratch to endgame farming! (Ralfhskz)
- Damage: Lightning, Electrocute
- Active Skills: Storm box of elgoloth, doom bolt, rune of kalastor, curse of frailty, inquisitor’s seal
Greetings!
Decided to share with you a leveling guide with a class i honestly didn’t played so much on this game.
This time i decided to level a deceiver focused on lightning damage.
The leveling was surprisingly fun and fast, we have good AoE and single-target damage, and for a off-hand caster, it’s tanky enough to take on bosses and skeleton key dungeons (BUT REMEMBER TO ALWAYS STAND ON YOUR INQUISITOR’S SEAL )!
Build rely on some Mi’s and some faction gear, so you won’t need much luck on legendary or epic item drops.
This build is a little “pianoish”, so if you’re looking for a lazy play style, that one’s not for you
Char actual stats
I leveled this char like this:
lvl1-10 Inquisitor, Level 10 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
Start as inquisitor, spend some points on word of pain and storm box of elgoloth, it should be enough to melt all the trash mobs and heroes early on.
Lvl 10-20 Inquisitor, Level 20 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
Max out storm box of elgoloth and lightning tether ASAP. After that, spend points on the inquisitor mastery bar.
When you reach your first 6 devotion points, complete the tsunami and bind the proc skill to word of pain to increase your dmg.
Lvl 20-30 Deceiver, Level 30 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
When you get to cronley’s hideout on act 2, search for a enemy boss named “moneybags martin” to farm build’s first MI, the martin’s crest.
After equipping it, spend some points on rune of kalastor.
After defeating Cronley, it’s time to access the swarming hive
once there, search for Ulraprax to farm our second main MI, the Ulraprax’s sting.
After this i take a detour to the FG dlc.
Once there, restore all shrines and head straight to the infernal wastes, access the tomb of sethan
to farm another important MI, the chosen mask. You can farm it from from Sister Crimson on the tomb.
On devotions, after completing the raven, complete widow, then remove tsunami and complete jackal, start spending points on behemoth.
Start spending points on the occultist mastery bar.
Lvl 30-40 Deceiver, Level 40 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
After finishing the dlc, i went back to vanilla campaign.
After maxing out vulnerability, spend all points on inquisitor’s mastery bar until you reach aura of censure.
On devotions, complete the behemoth, tortoise, hammer, start spending points on harvestman’s scythe.
When you reach homestead, be sure to choose the ORDER OF DEATH’S vigil, i’ll explain later why.
lvl 40-50 Deceiver, Level 50 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
After defeating the Loghorrean, don’t forget to check the chests on his room to get another MI we will use later on, the Loghorrean’s corruption.
At this level you should be heading to or completing the ashes of malmouth dlc. It’s a good idea farming Naxen shade in barrolholm mine or paying a visit to ancient grove for buying one on vinelton’s shop.
Speaking of barrolholm, near it’s entrance you will find the Tomb of Ugdall
It’s mandatory paying him a visit and choosing to fight him, he have 50% chance of dropping another mandatory MI for our build, the Enslaved wraith.
On devotions, complete the harvestman’s scythe, rhowan’s crown (bind the proc to storm box of elgoloth for now), remove hammer, complete lizard, start spending points on ultos.
I started Elite difficulty around lvl 53.
lvl 50-60 Deceiver, Level 60 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
Remember to check your resistances, upgrade gear and activate monster totems!
When you get honored with the black legion, go back to normal difficulty and talk to moira on fort ikon to access the Immolation area, near deadman’s gulch riftgate, for more safety, head to the area in the middle of the way first, wait a little and then head to the main gate (it’s a good idea bringing an aether cluster just in case!)
Once there, defeat the Herald of destruction to farm the last build’s MI, the Storm herald.
On devotions, finish ultos (bind the proc to storm box and bind inquisitor’s seal to rhowan’s crown proc) and korvaak, the eldritch sun (bind proc to rune of kalastor for now)
Lvl 60-70 Deceiver, Level 70 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
Remember to buy factions writs to boost up your reputation gain with them and upgrading your gear whenever you can, i finished elite around lvl 78.
lvl 70-80 Deceiver, Level 80 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
Remember to check your resistances and your gear. Rush all the way down to become revered with factions and to complete again the vanilla campaign. When you reach around lvl 90 it’s time to begin farming our endgame gear!
Lvl 94 Deceiver, Level 94 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
You will farm your pants near devil’s crossing, defeating the dreeg’s guardian.
You already know where to farm your weapon, off-hand, medal, belt, shoulder armor head armor and your amulet.
Buy your rings on coven of ugdenbog faction shop.
Buy your boots on black legion’s faction shop and your gloves on homestead’s faction shop.
You will farm your chest armor from Noveria (remember i told you to choose order of death’s vigil?? ) just don’t complete the quest and farm her until she drops a good one!
Build’s actual spec
Deceiver, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
Now you should be fully geared and ready to begin the endgame farming!
This char can even farm SR26(65) range.
