[1.2.1.6] 2h Aether EOR Templar - Mog, SR 30+ - Easy farming toon

Hello there, long time Grim Dawn enjoyer.

This is perhaps my most successful build so far though I haven’t spent a ton of time actually trying to min-max and see how far my builds will go. This was my first build that really got me into the game because I planned it and took it to endgame and was able to easily farm items and kickstart my obsession with grim calc xD

I like it because it combines some of the joys of GD for me which is essentially meme builds that use specific modifiers to promote weird class combos. The essential item for this build is Lucius’ Bladearm which within the Templar class is an absolute powerhouse, and the conduit which flavours EOR with a pleasant aether cyan.

The build as it stands: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/eZPpGGKZ

The previous few patches have given this build a nice boost with iirc buffs on the conduit, Solaire’s helm, and the Bladearm. It should be a nice starting character because the Bladearm is easily farmable alongside Krieg’s set which will provide a nice base for you to attack totems and SR farming. The conduit as well isn’t difficult to find from Morgoneth’s dungeon vendor nor craft as long as you cheese the save system

What you’re looking for with the Bladearm is the “of Shattered Reality” suffix which provides an incredible +5 to Fabric of Reality alongside the other incredible buffs to Reckless Power and the % rr of the granted skill, as this class combo doesn’t provide any native resist reduction. You can still reach a respectable -74 aether rr (disregarding the 18% from the granted skill).

SR is easily done at 30-32 where I farm and you can just leap into packs and spin to win without issue or using Ascension. Reaper of the Lost and Moosilauke (because of the freeze) are the trouble makers so you just have to play a little more cautiously (or always pop a hoarfrost ointment but who has time for that).

Mogdrogen has been the only celestial I’ve beaten so far and was a very comfortable experience with the Hoarfrost ointment for freeze resist, took maybe 5 minutes. I summoned Ravager of Souls and have only been able to get past the halfway point. Calla obliterated me. Physical resist is an issue! I haven’t tried Crate.

Thanks for reading, let me know if you think there are important things I’ve missed (again I haven’t min-maxed it rigorously).

Nice! This is on my (endless) list of things to try.

I like that you managed to hardcap reckless power and fabric of reality

Seems to be missing some acid resist.

Only in Grim Tools because shoulders lacks prefix. I think the build uses and old pair of shoulders with an affix that no longer drops hence grimtools can not parse it. Look at the images that are posted, the acid res is up there.

This build is actually pretty old and I only decided to post it because I was waiting to see what it could do endgame but never found the ideal items. I tried Mog yesterday (1st time) and that gave it the seal of approval for me haha.

As GIJW said, it has the ‘resistant’ prefix on the shoulders which adds 81% acid resist. It makes it hard to justify switching to other shoulders that have dropped!

you proc atherfire devotion skill?

Nope, I was thinking I should look into changing my devotions around now that I saw that. Maybe I’ll find a nice route to improve my physical resistance with more armour

+1k armor, +1k more hp (approx)

Oh nice thank you. I tried it out and the armor really helped for SR. I was able to finish 37! but I stopped there because a few things were giving me trouble. Reaper of the Lost in 34 nearly ended me haha, and I was getting one shot by Ugdenbog Golem double swipes (or perhaps multiple at once) in 37. Pathfinding in some of the arenas was becoming an obstacle, Gargaban caught me lacking in the Sunspire map (36).

I’m afraid Ravager and Calla are out of the question. I don’t really know how to fight them either, they were outputting too much damage.

Rule 1: when they sunder you, evade

Gonna see if there is another way to get more hp too

hope you have many pants to choose from
