[1.2.1.6] [2H Melee] [HC] Ignivar the fire scourge - Fire blazerush elementalist leveling guide - Controller friendly, easy leveling and fast endgame farming

  • [2H melee] [1.2.1.6] Ignivar the fire scourge (Ralfhskz)
    • Damage: Fire, burn
    • Active Skills: Savagery, thermite mine, wendigo totem, disorder

Hello there GD community! If you’re new on the game or want a fast killing machine that’s also VERY TANKY and a lazy gameplay, this guide is definitely for you!

This giant, fast paced and flaming juggernaut use few buttons, so it’s totally controller friendly.

The gameplay is very simple: Approach your poor enemies, debuff them with your thermite mines , release your wendigo totem and CRUSH them into pieces.

Once again, i leveled this char from scratch, no merits, potions, mandates or pre-farmed gear were used.

You may be asking: “Hey, what about this bunch of legendary gear, this don’t look like a beginner guide”
- Fear not, cairn chosen! :fire:This badass budget setup uses mostly monster infrequent (MI’s) and faction gear (this budget version can deal with all bosses/skeleton key dungeons and SR26-27) The legendary helm is target-farmable, so you won’t need to rely on random drops!

The leveling:

Lvl 1-10 Demolitionist, Level 10 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

This time i wanted to start full melee, so i chose the demolitionist mastery first.
Try using any 2H weapon, if you don’t drop any, you can use the Hevill’s Greatsword, you can find it checking a corpse on a house in lower crossing.

About first skill points, i spent some on fire strike and some on flame touched, spend one in each of them and one on the mastery bar.
You can totally choose shaman’s mastery bar and go for primal strike to begin this journey too, if you want.

On your way to burrwitch you will find the first important gear that we use on this build, the Shambler’s Heart, you can find it on the The Flooded Passage after killing the Ancient Shambler.

Lvl 10-20 Elementalist, Level 20 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
When you reach lvl10, choose immediately the shaman’s mastery as your second mastery and start spending points on it! Spend a point on wind devil.

After reaching your first 6 devotion points, complete the Fiend and bind it’s proc to the wind devil, spend a point in primordial (crossroads) and start spending points on the imp.

Lvl 20-30 Elementalist, Level 30 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

After defeating warden krieg i headed straight to act 2 and then the Forgotten god’s DLC.
And the reason is that you’re gonna farm the second important MI from “Moneybags” Martin in Cronley’s Hideout, the Martin’s Crest.

Another important MI to farm for now is the Incendiary Casque, you will find it killing cronley’s thugs and “Moneybags” Martin has a chance of dropping it.

After that i headed straight for the DLC.
Chose the bysmiel cult first (we will use gear from their shop later).
The reason for being here so early is that we’re gonna find a decent weapon to use for now, you can farm the Sunherald’s Claymore from Astros the Sunherald in the Sunward Spire.

On skill points, spend a point on wendigo totem, max out the raging tempest node from the wind devil skill.

On devotions, complete the Imp (bind the proc to fire strike), then complete behemoth. Spend a point in order(crossroads), start spending points on tortoise.

Lvl 30-40 Elementalist, Level 40 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

After completing the DLC, i returned to the vanilla campaign.
When you’re doing the quests for douglass of homestead, don’t forget to pay a visit to Gollus, the Deepdweller in the Den of the Lost to farm our main build’s rings, farm 2 Gollus’ Ring for now.

When you’re asked to choose between order of death’s vigil and kymon’s chosen, YOU MUST CHOOSE ORDER OF DEATH.

On skill points, after reaching the thermite mine on demolitionist’s mastery bar, leave it on 16/16, spend a point in blast shield and some points in heart of the wild.

On devotions, complete the tortoise, complete kraken, remove the imp, complete solael’s witchblade (bind the proc to fire strike), complete the hawk, start spending points on alladrah’s phoenix.

Lvl 40-50 Elementalist, Level 52 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

After defeating karroz, on your way to fort Ikon, complete all the quests for Order of death’s vigil, then talk to the Keeper of tomes NPC to activate the secret ashes quest, you will need it to farm our main weapon until we hit lvl94, the Barthollem’s Warmaul, you will farm it from Archon Barthollem in the Tomb of Archon Barthollem.

On skill points, start maxing heart of the wild and wendigo totem.

On devotions, complete the alladrah’s phoenix, (bind the proc to fire strike and change the solael’s witchblade proc to thermite mine), complete the lotus, rhowan’s crown (bind the proc to wendigo totem), start spending points in crab.

Lvl 50-60 Elementalist, Level 60 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

Started elite around lvl 54.
Time to check resistances and upgrade gear.

Don’t forget to activate all monster totems!

Start maxing out vindictive flame and mogdrogen’s pact.

On devotions, complete the crab and spend 6 points on ulzuin’s torch (spend a skill point in brute force and a skill point in Upheaval, then bind the alladrah’s proc to upheaval and the torch’s proc to fire strike).

Lvl 60-70

Well i’m really sorry but i forgot uploading this range of lvl, but it’s not a big matter, no big changes… just keep upgrading your gear, capping resistances and activate all monster totems!
You must be honored by now with most of the factions, don’t forget to buy their writs!

Lvl 70-80 Elementalist, Level 80 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

You must be on ultimate difficulty now!
Just complete the vanilla campaign again and the DLC’s.

Remember to upgrade your stuff and check resistances, check if you’re revered with bysmiel and dreeg’s cult, and coven of ugdenbog. From Lvl 90 and beyond we will need some of their shop’s gear.

lvl 80-90 Elementalist, Level 90 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

It’s time to begin the endgame gear farming!

First thing: Buy the Blazerush blueprint from coven of ugdenbog faction and craft one.
After that, respec all your points from fire strike and its nodes and put them on savagery (max), tenacity of the boar (max) and some points on storm touched, max upheaval too (yeah, i know, farming the goddamn kilrian’s shattered soul can take some time :joy:).

Go farm a decent version of the amulet on flooded passage

For the budget setup, i used the popular Fettan Mask until i farmed our main helm, the Horns of Korvaak

(be patient, i recorded around 17-18 runs until it dropped :joy:)

I dropped a decent epic gloves, the Mythical Runesinged Handguards

but the actual gear i’m using is a good ol’ Plagueguard Grips (craft looking for attack speed affixes mainly)

I farmed the pants near devil’s crossing, the useful Dreeg-Sect Legguards from the Guardian of Dreeg.

Time to pay some visits again to our friend gollus to farm 2 decent endgame rings

Go back to cronley’s hideout to farm a nice version of the martin’s crest

You can buy your Elite Bysmiel Flameshroud Cuirass and the Elite Coven Arcane Mantle from their respective factions for now.

I used the Elite Legion Greaves until i dropped a Blueprint: Stoneplate Greaves

*I think the BiS boots for this build may be the Mythical Earthshatter Treads, but i crafted and currently am using a nice Stoneplate Greaves

Pay a visit to port valbury’s dungeon to farm the Chains of Ordas belt from Watcher Ordas.

My setup at lvl 94 Elementalist, Level 94 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator :fire:

Char lvl 100 budget setup Elementalist, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator :fire:

After hitting this lvl i headed straight to farm korvaak for his horns (see the video above).

Update 1: Elementalist, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator (using the horns) :fire:

After some days of farming and fighting kymon’s chosen on fort haron and in the tomb of archon barthollem, finally got nemesis with their faction, and the reason for that is: I wanted to farm a nice Iron Maiden’s Shoulderguard

Decided to change the medal to a Rylok Crest since we are using savagery now. I farmed it on Cinder Wastes, remember that Gabal’Thunn, the Visage of Madness has a chance of dropping it.

Another change i made was in the amulet, during a run in the Tomb of the heretic i ended up fighting Kaisan, the Eldritch Scion and it dropped a nice version of the Kaisan’s Burning Eye (take a look on the TOTH video)

:fire:Final update :fire: Elementalist, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator :fire:

After some totem and dungeon farming, i dropped these awesome Mythical Vestments of Severed Faith and Mythical Thread of Mortality they will boost even more our damage and survivability!

Do you think it’s worth maxing out Brute Force? Flat lightning is fully converted to fire, + HP is very welcome.

Yeah, surely it’s a good idea, but Just for the HP, i remember brute force giving mostly phys+IT dmg boost

Hi. I just started playing GD. From my experience in other games, I remember that to have fun, you need to not just follow someone else’s guide, but also understand why it is this way and not otherwise.
I tried to slightly rework your grimtools so that it would be without a totem. Look at the tree of piety and comment. Thanks. Elementalist, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

hi there. Ty for the reply!
This setup is just great too, but if you’re gonna play HC the wendigo totem provides great healing! in this mode, survivability>damage
