Interesting point i didnt really consider yet. And yes, i actually completely forgot about the bomb oa shred ![]()
Probability To Hit (PTH) = ((((Attacker’s OA / ((Defender’s DA / 3.5) + Attacker’s OA)) * 300) * 0.3) + (((((Attacker’s OA * 3.25) + 10000) – (Defender’s DA * 3.25)) / 100) * 0.7)) – 50
It does not look like 100 less attacker’s OA = 100 more Defender’s DA
Guess ill try how it works. Because this might be the difference i need to facetank Callagadra through sunders as well - the highest damage i received at one time was nearly 20k in this fight whilst sundered. If i combine this with a proper pierce overcap (which i didnt use for the Callagadra fight) this might work - although im not sure if those super-high damage hits are actually physical damage.
For the OA and DA values we are considering here yes - then they are approximately additive / subtractive.
iirc when we napkin mathed “nice da” against Calla it remains relatively decent/“tight enough” even on the larger scales of celestial sky high OA+her da debuff
so you probably need to go way up in scale before it starts to matter/be in those “specific curves” of the pth scale to have meaningful impact beyond a “safe” quick simplistic 1:1 mind calc
quick fiddle with it seems like we shreds of 500 or wider base gaps would begin to make it fluctuate the impact consideration
so technically you’re correct, but practically i think we can think of it has having same effect
Am I overlooking something or does the build have no %DR? As Omen is not used? Then Oleron Blood would be great
My guess is that it would be a lot better. Your WPS % is 81 atm?
I already discussed this very same point with someone else somewhere above - i also had the sudden epiphany that an olerons blood would be the perfect solution for this issue as i dont have 100% WPS at the moment - so two problems solved at once ![]()
Here’s an equivalent formula that’s easier to look at and analyze ![]()

-
you can easily see that PTH is 90 when OA and DA are equal
-
you can also that if we increase both OA and DA by 100, if they are not equal, the PTH will decrease
-
unless it’s a build by @Maya with OA < DA and PTH < 90, then it will increase

How do you get your hat to look like that? Is it a mod? A supporter perk? I thought it was just the female version of the armor, but when i equipped it on a female long ago it was the helmet-version, not the crown (I used the SR set but i figured all versions would be the same). Sorry to derail, I’ve been wondering for awhile. Impressive first post!
When worn the female version is different and is that crown instead of the helmet.
yeah, I think it’s just my Phys EoR girl from my beginner guide in SR set variant: Warlord, Level 100 (GD 1.1.9.7) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator The face changed with a mod though
The set used to be yellow (and in my previous avatar) but now yellow is just an illusion you can buy and the default is purple. The crown has more TQ vibes than GD which is why I chose it.
Well you were both (@RxJunkie) right, of course. Pulled the lids from GDIA and they have the helmet look in the shared stash but change to the crown in the character’s inventory. FWIW the Illusionist had the crowns available, but I didn’t know what to look for previously.
Edited the main Post to better reflect the changes discussed here - included the Olerons component in the grimtools as well as having done a slight talent point reshuffle (-1 conversion, +1 reaping strike).
I recently imagined how one could move this build forward even more, even with unattainable double rares, so i tried to come up with crafts for every slot which isnt set in stone. The one which caught my eye the most was this bad boy which id drop band of the mythical haunt for :
This not only massively increases our health ( remember, we have roughly +60% health via devotions), health regeneration and most important of all, lifesteal ( which he had nearly 0 before, only the 5% provided via ghoul, now we would jump from 5% to 15-17% because the resistances offered in the ring would also allow us to use an unholy inscription in the gloves).
Even after using the inscription, we could still drop another augment for, say, health regen/hp.
But good luck ever attaining this ring. I wont try.
Obviously a double rare theodin marcell scepter would also be preferable (voracity or shattered reality depending on dmg vs. survivability)
Perhaps a weird choice and nog sure its better, but I’ve dropped the legs and went for well rolled solael-sects instead to bump adcth to 12%. This also gave me more options in taking hp/reg augments
Nah im happy about every suggestion, as wild as your imagination might be ![]()
Although in this case i will disagree, as i obviously considered them before, but the gains are abysmal - remember, the reason i wanted to do the build in the first place is to NOT rely on ADCTH.
So what do i have to sacrifice for more ADCTH in this case?
- A 2 second AoE knockdown effect when i charge into big packs in SR - which also deals damge
- +2 Reckless Power - so less flat aether, less % aether, less attack speed
- +2 Spectral Wraith , -2% aether res mainly
- Probably some damage because most useful pre/suffix combinations here wont provide me with a lot of this, if some at all
I even checked some double rare combinations, but even the best rolls here felt inferior.
Although in my post above i found a single double rare whiich i think is worth sacrificing a slot for - and youll gain 5% more ADCTH than with the legs as well ![]()
With the added benefit of having more headroom for non-resistance augments
Thanks your reply and insights! Concerning the ring, that Gollus’ is obviously very good (any dread lords) but hell to farm and feels bad on the other hand to give up of any of those rings
